Are animals proficient of mortal suicidal? ?
I know that animals have similar characteristics, but not all, so is the above possible?
We are all animals, so if we , humans, commit suicide, intuition or no instinct, I don't see why other animals shouldn't.
There may be exceptions, but it is generally accepted that adjectives animals possess an intense desire/ instinct to survive...that pretty much rules out suicide.
Although, many animals do things that kill in cold blood them. The thing that keeps these actions (such as mate with the opposite sex that will kill them or running rotten a cliff) from being suicide is that the animals don't know these things will kill them because they are acting on instinct and enjoy obviously never done them before...or they'd be dead.
So.my answer is NO, animals do not commit suicide...because whether they kill themselves it is unintentional and by definition, suicide is intentional.
Answers: Monkeys, apes, baboons, and prosimians (all non-human primates) can suffer from extreme depression. They will tread back and forth for hours at a time, scratch until their hair falls out, and even chew on their limb to inflict pain on themselves. This is not normal behavior, but you will often see it occurring in 'medical research labs'. I'm not sure if they are intelligent ample to intentionally kill themselves, but they are intelligent enough to actually suffer from a human-like depression. I'm certain they would rather be dead than be stuck with 'researchers' performing brain surgeries on them short any pain medicine. It's so sad this is what our due money goes to...
I don't know...my house rabbit quit drinking her water. She would only drink when I brought it to her maw (OK, if rabbits have lips), she refused to hop inches to the bottle. She died a week subsequent. Kinda makes me think she was all set to go.
I think it could be possible.
After one of my cats died, my other one get really depressed. He refused to eat or drink. after a few days we had shove it down him! (not literally) Cats can't run longer than a week without water so he was pretty much trying to murder himself.

no. they can appear to be suicidal at times, but it's sheer panic that makes them counter in such a way.
