Are bran bugs okay for horses to devour?
i give my horse wheat bran twice a week only to give her psyllium contained by order to prevent colic. But ive noticed that there are little bugs surrounded by there that ive looked up and found were bran bugs... however, i don't know how safe it is to contribute my horse bran that has some of these bugs. Ive been told that it should be okay, but im still skeptical. anyone have any suggestions?
Answers: I wouldn't nurture it to horses, it doesn't sound like it has be stored correctly and isn't clean. Is your horse prone to colic? I would feed a bran mash to a horse that have mild colic but not as a preventative, bran is an old fashioned feed that isn't resourcefully balanced. Chaff is more commonly used to bulk up a feed and encourage mastication.
no nick it back to the shop, it upsets their tummies,
you can help prevent colic by soaking the hay overnight.
what you buy should be fresh not riddled!!
