Do most population own pets?
Most people in civilized places do. It could be anything from a fish to a cow really.
I enjoy a dog, a cat, 2 geckos, a hamster, and a betta fish.
I think the majority of people own pets of some sort, whether it be a pond/tank of fish or something as impressive as a horse.
Personally, I have always owned pets. The only time I HAVEN'T owned pets is when I first go to university - that lasted six months, i missed my pets at my parents house so ended up rescuing gerbils xD obsessive? Its runs within the blood ;)
The only person i know who doesn't have pets is my partner's mother...but she never have pets growing up so isn't too tolerant of animals.
I currently have
- 1 dog
- 1 house rabbit (dog and bunny cuddle up together)
- 4 gerbils
- Fish
Answers: Nearly everybody I know does have pets, at least a cat or a dog. So I'd say its probably a 50/50 split, but after I've found that a great deal of people hate pets of any sort, so I'd hold to say 25 do own pets and 75 don't.
I'm going to say 50/50 or maybe 60%-no, 40%-yes...and I assume you stingy Americans. You have those that do not want a pet, can't afford one, allergic, or other various reasons. But for every party you know that doesn't have one, I'm sure you know one that does. I'm 23 and never really had a pet(dog) until just now. They are a handful and expensive!...but one of the best decisions ever. He makes me laugh everyday and make me happy.

I have 3 mice and a cat. hehe that sounded funny.
I used to have 9 dogs that our house raised but they all ran absent and died.

Usually. It really depends on where you live and allergies and such. I live on a farm, so I enjoy lots of room for animals (cats, dogs, birds, fish, hedgehog, etc.) But if I lived in a city apartment, I'd probably not have pets, or purely something little like a small dog or fish.

probably about 2 in 10 people hold a pet i'd say
