From how glorious can a hamster drop (or fall) without risk?

we are trying to tame ours by cupping him inour hands while he is a big box so he cant run away, and slowly lifting him up.
Most hamsters have the ability to fall or hop from high distances without injuring themselves. My hamster fell off a 7 foot bunk bed and didn't hurt it self. But whether your trying to tame him, I would suggest carrying it around in a hoody jacket pocket, it get them more aquanted with you so they won't run away. I did this with my hamster and immediately it rides on my shoulder and doesn't even try to run away.

The best agency to tame a jumpy hamster is to gradually win him/her used to your scent. When you hold him cup your hands around and hold him to your chest. Also when you pick him up out of the cage grab him safe and sound around his mid-section and swiftly place him against your chest so he doesnt feel as if he is falling. Do this several times a day and he should heat up up to you just fine.
and as for falling, my little escape artist has somehow managed to undamagingly fall about 3-4 feet. Now his coop is locked up tight, lol.
two of my friends hammies fell from the top-bottom of their hold and died as they landed on their backs (don't allow roof climbing)

However I'd assume landing correctly it's be quite far

I've had my russian dwarf hamster sit on my shoulder while walking and every now and after they jump off but aren't injured. I'm 5' 10" tall. So, whether you discount my head, he falls about 5'. Compared to humans, it would be as whether you fell around 15 stories (150'). Gnarly, huh?

it really depends...my little brother was jumping on the bed (unsupervised) beside his hamster it fell an died ...just make sure your within to catch it, but i would suggest carrying it around with you...
Depends on the hamster. Not very far though, although it depends how they fall and what they land on. I wouldn't trust standing up properly cuz whether he jumped he would probably be hurt. Stay close to the ground or something soft
