Getting a Ferret? Some Questions?
Im thinking about getting a ferret for Christmas, but id like to know could I tolerate it run freely in my room or the bathroom throughout the day?
My boyfriend has two that he let stay in his room in the day. He say they just go to the litter box and hang out within his room. Also ive only got one cat in my house but she is a tiny kitten something like a month and a half old so I was thinkin more along the lines of they could hurt her instead of her hurting them. Or else they could freshly learn to get along? Ive also got a dog but he is also a tiny chihuahua. I would do my best to save all of them seperated but if by chance they did seize around each other what would be the outcome? Also another question, could i just use a bowl to put sea in for the ferret? or would i need a water bottle?
I just got 3 ferrets the other year but i also have 5dogs 3cats a bird and some fish. You could try to introduce them but hold them when they do meet. If they dont get along dont tolerate them get to eachother. It might be best just to let ferret have their own room with out the other animals.=)
Hmm... I'd influence it's not such a good idea, but I'm a ferret lover, so if I be in your situation I'd probably [against my better judgement] do it anyway. I'd slowly introduce them to each other and whether at first they don't get along, just watch them VERY in moderation and if it gets worse, consider giving up the ferret or the other animal(s). I have a rabbit who drinks from river bottles and bowls, so your ferrets should be fine with either as very well.
No, you cant really let a ferret run free...they get into too much trouble. They are terrible for consumption things they shouldnt...anything rubber like remote control buttons, carpet backing, pencil erasers, or foam close to makeup sponges. They will also eat weird lotions and potions you put on your face, disinfectant and anything they can get hold of their paws on. They take a LONG time to litter train, it is easier to have them confined to their own space, a special ferret room is best but a pen will do.
Ferrets are challenging animals, difficult to train and very stubborn, bad for tear at carpets. They are very cute but they're also high running. Are you willing to give you ferrets four hours attention every daylight?
I wouldnt trust ferrets with a kitten at all, they should other be supervised when they are together.

Answers: The ferret is best alone from the other animals. But, you could try to introduce them supervised, implication you be there and intervene if anything bad be to happen. Since the cat is so young you have a great luck of them getting along, but the dog is another story. Ferrets can drink from water bowls, but they tend to play in them also. My ferret dunks his whole guide under water and make a drastically big wet mess. Water bottles are the best way for your ferret to drink. Ferrets make great pets, get sure though that all your power cords are covered up or in an nouns where the ferret cant bite them. Little pieces of rubber are also dangerous to their health, you enjoy to make sure things like this are not on the ground. Vacume your room habitually, and be sure to cover small holes up where the ferret might climb into but cant get out. Good luck, you wont regret getting the little guy they are great.
