Guniea pig is giving birth sooner than i thought and i looked-for to move her to a larger enclose.?
i have a very nervous guniea to be precise giving birth sooner than i thought. i wanted to move her to a larger cage before she give birth but now its too late! can i move her now or do i hold to wait a certain length of time?
Well it depends on how big your hutch is now and how many babies she have but i probably wouldn't move her now because she will get nervous contained by a new hutch and may get stressed. If i were you i would disappear her as she is and just be careful with her until her babies are born.
I enjoy breed guinea pigs for five years and bearing in mind she is easily upset any way i wouldnt move her if the babies get your smell on them she could reject them i would linger a week the size of the cage does not really matter yet as the babies will stick to mum approaching glue often being underneath her so whether the cage is big enough for her its big enough for them at the moment
I think the best hypothesis is to give her a big cage now

You can move then straight away. Piggys have a long gestation extent so that they are born ready to run. Just make sure they are out of draughts, But you can manipulate the babies right away. Make sure the male is absent from mum tho, because she can get pregnant straight after giving birth.

I used to breed guinea pigs, but I never have this particular problem... to be safe, I think I'd only just let her give birth in this hold and move her and the babies afterwards. Baby guinea pigs are SO cute. I miss them. I haven't had guinea pigs in a decade now. Sigh. I hold a rat terrier now though, and I think having a pet rodent would be terrifying.
yes you can moveher streight absent as the babies are born fully motavated with eyes open and full coat running after mum so if you perceive she needs a bigger cage then freshly move them all into the bigger cage
Answers: u cannot move her now hun as she will egnore her babies and resign from them to die u have to wait 3 ks if still want to move her and congrates x
