Having a rabbit and a dog?
im 14 and the family has a pet dog (staffie) and i just get a 8 week old dwarf rabbit, how can i care for them both without siding? i discern like im caring for the rabbit but not the dog?
Give them both time and love. Give them both food and shelter.
It's approaching you and your siblings..
The dog has been surrounded by the family for awhile, do what you have to do for your new friend. You'll know how to handle both once the newest wears stale from having a new pet! Get your dog involved, talk to him and bring him along when your compassionate for your rabbit!
Answers: It depends on the dog. I had indistinguishable situation when I got my rabbits. If the dog is friendly, try introducing the rabbit by holding it in your arms and letting the dog sniff it slowly. If there are signs of any aggression, steal away the rabbit immediately. If the dog is friendly, try holding the rabbit while the dog is around, perhaps while throwing the dog's toy or petting him/her. Wait for the rabbit to perceive comfortable around the dog (perhaps when he's older). When the rabbit is older, you can play with them both in one and the same room. It is surprising how accepting dogs can be. We live in a neighborhood full of hunting dogs (bloodhounds, pitbull/rotweiler mix, bunch of labs) and they all regard the rabbits hopping surrounded by the backyard as just another small dog/ cat.
We own a guinea pig and a dog. We just play with both. The dog arent in cage so you can play with them whenever. Just petting them is fine too. And the rabbit, just take it out for approaching an hour a day and play with it or let it hop around!
Keep the rabbit next!
I have a rabbit and a dog. I let my rabbit out all darkness and play with my dog all day.
Dogs get jealous just similar to people
when in view of the dog, make available attention together, equal attention, or more attention to the dog. Go somewhere private out of view of the dog and without the dog knowing, for private time with the rabbit.
