Help! My ferret have be litter-trained for a long time, but nowadays he doesn't safekeeping?
He's been going in a box for a year, and all of a sudden he's going every where on earth. If my parents notice, they'll make me get rid of him, please facilitate! He's neutered, and he's about 14 months old. HELP!
I know what you're discussion about I have 2 rabbits and my parents ar ethe same way. The solitary reason I can think of is sometimes when that happens it vehicle that maybe your ferret is sick.
Put litter boxes in a corner or two for him when he is out, they prefer to travel in corners and chances are he is just too far from his shut within (or he thinks he is) when the urge hits...
Or, you can do me a solid and take my fat dog, he vacuums up their poop back I can get to it half the time, makes for some nice breath...
Answers: Ferrets aren't resembling cats, so they aren't programmed to go to the bathroom in a litter box like a cat is. Sometimes, they are going to enjoy accident. He may just have be to far away from the litter box. When a ferret has to go, a ferret have to go, right then and right there and whether their box isn't too far away, they'll make it. Otherwise, the closest corner is just fine for them!
Clean up his accident right after he has them and if you notice him trying to progress somewhere other than his litter box, pick him up and put him in his litter box! Give him a treat when he gets it right. Basically, train him over again, I guess is what I'm dictum. Sometimes that happens. Has he been acting strangely in any other process? This *could* be a sign of illness, but if his behavior hasn't changed in any other track, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
