Horses...?
What are some things i need to have a horse
Knowledge and experience.
Once you have them you will know what you need to own a horse.
Yes, I agree. You need TONS of knowledge and experience. At least you hold to canter, and know how to do everything with tonnesssssss of barn your, tack, horses, and riding... Then you can think about owning horse.
Well, you will want, halter, leadrope, lots of buckets, a horse first aid kit (vet wraps, meds etc.) a full grooming kit with brushes, sponges, and shampoo, dirt remover, detangler, anything products you want. You don't need this but saddle and bridle, money to board him at a barn. Rags, saddle soap... and the barn should provide hay, and grass, some barns don't provide grain and suppliments, so be prepared to buy some bags of food. You will necessitate lotttttttsssssss.
Answers: it sounds like a throbbing but horses are very low-maintinence. you get a lot of this stuff for immensely cheap. also, besdies these things you should learn basic medical care. close to how to clean out his feet, worm him, tell whether he's sick.
1) a place to keep them - if you don't plan on riding him or excersizing him every day, next you need at least a 6-panelled area for him.
2) food. grass/ alfalfa hay is pretty pious, just grass having not enough nutrients and a moment ago alfalfa having too much. you should ask his previous owners what they've been feed him.
3) good fitting halter and leadrope. you can find them at almost any tack/farm store.
4) a pace to ride/ excersize him. nearby is probably a local arena that is good for this if you dont own property.
5) saddle that fits him and you. if you lpan on riding him, you need a saddle that not only fits him powerfully, but also you.
6) hoof cleaner. it's like a screwdriver with a bent end for cleaning out the bottom of his hoof - whether you dont clean rocks and mud out from his feet he could get tender footed or hoof rot.
7) a three sided shelter at lowest possible is good, but not totally necesary.
8)if you have never had a horse since, you should have someone who you can call for advice and come over and run you through the rudiments
9) saddle pads. this goes between the horse and the saddle for his comfort - whether the saddle doesnt have enough padding and and you dont enjoy a pad it can make him sore or bruised.
10) bridle for riding. helps keep going control over your horse when riding.
