Is it banned to own a wolf?
In the United States is it illegal to own a wolf even if you have a abiding amount of property or get permission from the state?
Yes it is
What exotic animal you can or can not own vary by states in the US. Here in SC for example, the only animal you can NOT own is any type of primate. You can enjoy a flipping TIGER, but no monkeys.
There are however, some federal laws. Endangered species are not allowed to be kept as pets. Wolves can only be pets whether they are hybrids containing 50% dog. Most states will euthanize a dog if they believe the mix to be too high on the percentage of wolf.
You can keep them whether you are a licensed wildlife rehab expert, but you can only get those licenses whether you release the animals into the wild, which you obviously don't want to do as you want to keep it as a pet.
Leave the wolves frenzied. Buy a malamute or other wolf-like breed.
it depends on the state you are in but most all of them are dubious to own a full bred wolf--they are very stubborn and can be dangerous if aggressive
Just like you would a dog.
We have people here who breed them near German Shepherds. They are gorgeous. After all a dog is just a throw off of a wolf.
Depends on the state. You might enjoy to apply for a wildlife license.
You made a good question made me wonder now unwell have to investigate but i think it is ilegal or you have to win a license which might be hard
Answers: In the USA they're still on the endangered species account meaning you'd need a special permit to enjoy one, which is issued by the DNR in your state. They're very particular give or take a few who they give these permits out to.
You'd also have to hold a special rider on your homeowners insurance, given the nature of the predator. If you don't and they find out you have one you'll be dropped and will have a totally hard time finding an insurance company who will take you.
Mostly you have to be a rehabber, working next to the state to even have a chance at getting near a wolf. Sorry.
it might be. you might requirement a special license. you should google your state and the wildlife laws to see if you need one.
I don't know about the rest of the country, but I live in West Virginia and there is seriously of wildlife. Here, it's illegal if you catch a bird and keep hold of it.
don't know if it illegal. but it could be very treacherous I'm guessing
Why would you want to OWN such a pretty WILD creature ? The idea sounds repulsive and disgusting and stops it being what is admirable in the region of it...
yes
