Is petfinder.com worthless?

Any time I post an animal for adoption on that side, my email box is flooded with scams. What's the deal? Should I a moment ago stop using it? It's pretty annoying!
Post it to classifieds.com, and after people can look up pets for sale and their area and see what is available

My shelter uses that site and our email box doesn't get spam e-mail from it. It's really not worthless, it helps lots of people find out about our shelter, culture have come from all over the South to visit our little place for one of our animals (that they saw on petfinder.com).

Answers:    I've had the same experience posting on the classified ad portion of the site. The shelter encyclopaedia is great, (When the shelters keep up with it.) but I do wish that in that weren't so many people trying to scam when people are trying to find pious homes and aren't a rescue.

I'd try advertising more locally. Newspaper, maybe make some posters and hang up them in a few places, things like that.
