since i was a little boy i wanted a monkey (small) to play next to but they dont sell them in alberta and i dont want to pay 2000 dolars shiping so do you know where on earth i can find a monky in alberta?
1st find out if it is legal in your nouns.
There are a few things you should be aware of when looking for a monkey. The first is that there are tons of folks who pretend to sell monkeys and are just trying to scam people out of money by getting them to distribute them money for nothing in return. The second is that monkeys are greatly dependent as babies, but once they get older they can bite HARD. People can be hospitalized from bites from any monkey capuchin size and larger. I have read that marmosets and squirrel monkeys are not strong ample to send you to a hospital but will hurt.
That being said, you should look in the classified article of the newspaper under pets. that's a great place to look. you can also ask a local vet or other animal breeders may have some contacts. Just mind of the online fraud.
Answers: I was looking into Monkeys in Alberta, I lately googled Common Marmoset in Alberta and I found quite a few, They aren't illegal as far as I know and I don't imagine you need a permit or anything, there be some for sale down south, in Calgary and Edmonton area, I desided not to get hold of one because A) They were a couple thousand $$'s and B) I was told unless you have experience training monekys you will only end up with an extremely badly behave agressive moneky, so talk to some breeders extensively first : )
Add: I double checked Common Marmosets are NOT illegal, but other monkeys, I am not so sure around.

here is a site with them for sale, although I don't know how current, you may be able to contact them tho and find where on earth they got them, if they breed them etc.
