Lying on a pet adoption form?
I adopted a pet from a pet store and the animals come from the humane society, well they said they would make a domestic visit and i rent so they wouldnt give me the cat but i lyed ont he adoption form bout my address and phone number, but they have a copy of my license, presently when they cant get a hold of me to make the visit, what can they do whether anything? i know i could take care of the cat more then they could!
I don't think they will do anything..it's not close to you are going to eat the cat...of course it's better off near you!
When thinking about bringing a new pet into the family, you don’t other need to go to a pet store or contact a breeder. Pet Adoptions programs are always looking for nice family to adopt one of the numerous pets they have been civilized for. Organizations that care for stray dogs or cats are havens for animals that need loving homes and are generally very reasonably priced. Often, the dogs and cats you find through pet adoption channels are house broken and pious tempered animals.
When they spot that the 2 addresses don't match they will probably contact the owner/landlord of your property and arrange to repossess the animal.
So through lying to obtain a pet you could end up homeless and with no pet
They could fine you, but I'm not sure if they'd purloin the cat away. You could hide the kitty in a kitty playroom or something and merely tell them that you gave the cat to a friend whose last moniker and address you have no idea. You should be careful subsequent time because this is quite a pickle, but I'm sure you know that. Best regards to you and cat.
Answers: Your weak, and the reason no shelter should use a pet store to get there cats to the public. There is a origin that they didnt adopt to renters, because you lie. Most renters cant have pets but want one and then when the hotelier finds out or new mangement takes or you move, you dump it back into the the humane societys knees crying buckets of tears on how unfair it is. Or you are a puke and you leave it outside to roam and create more problems. Better even so you could be one of those that just leave it in your apartment afterwards vacate and let it to starve to death. THATS why you need to be honest. Why do YOU cogitate you can better care for a cat than a humane society can. Its there job. They vet it, nurture, it and love it. They same as you. Your lying will cause problems in being competent to make check ups to ensure the cats health and happiness and be certain you are doing what you are suppose to as an owner. Well silly if they have one address and one license. Dont you give attention to they will check up on it. Believe me if they are any kind of Humane Society they will come looking for the cat, I am sure you are not that smart and they will enjoy law enforcement to help them. If they do find you, they will likely appropriate the cat back from you and possibly press charges. Do you want that on your records? Believe me I know, we do it all the time at the shelter I worked at.
TOO ADD: You know its funny that populace go to a SHELTER to get a pet, and then they story to get it... the funny thing is you can go to the NEWSPAPER stand and here are a MILLION and one adds for free animals and cheaper than the Humane Society too. So why go through a contract and PROMISE things you are LYING about to achieve an animal? Its stupid. You arent doing an animal any good if you can not provide a steady and decent home. Renters cant do that. Sorry.
USA: your going to put your faith within a person that LIED to get a cat because they say they enjoy a better home and can care for a cat better? How bout the hundreds of Hoarding houses that are busted each year basis the person LOVES animals and wants to give them loving homes beside 100 other animals and no food, vet care or proper sanitation. What happens to this cat if the proprietor decided she cant have it? Can she hide it forever from regulation. You are pretty trusting to give you approval to this type of behavior to a person you dont know from adam.
Elizabeth: you were predictable turned down not because of the job but because of the hours you work and the mile you commute. If you are a work-holic then when will you find time to give that animal proper treatment. No shelter turns population down for just a job. There was something else involved I am certain.
I hope they don't actually do anything going on for it. Sometimes they are just too strict and pets won't get a chance to turn to a wonderful new home. Did you sign any papers? Do you have copies whether you did? Review those.
Congratulations on your new pet!
The are going to put an APB out on you. When they find you, they will christen SWAT and have them kick in your door and drag you absent. They will prosecute you to the fullest extent. People love animals, especially the people from the humane society. Those hippies are crazy. You should move to Mexico and take the cat next to you if you don't want to go to prison.
If they find you, they can and probably will take the cat stern. They can trace you through your license. That's why they ask for it - because people do lie.
If you can get documentation from your landlord that pets are allowed (especially cats) than even whether they did track you down you would have proof that you are allowed to have it.
I volunteer for a rescue organization and the rules for respectively are vastly different. Our group did actual house checks before the pet was allowed to go domestic. We did vet checks to see how other pets were cared for (maintenance check ups, shots, etc.) and the reason for their demise (died of hoary age, hit by a car, etc.).
I would say because the pet store was a middle man, the group you get yours from is probably too busy to do any follow up. But if they do, most will put more weight on a landlords approval for a pet than some application.
Most lease will say either pets are allowed or not. That's all they really requirement to approve you (based on your living situation).
FYI my group also asked questions like what you thought the expected costs might be, what type of food would be fed, how various hours the pet would spend alone. There are a lot more factors than just where on earth you live that they take into consideration before placing a pet.
Good luck though. It seems your heart is surrounded by the right place. But I'd hate to see you and the pet evicted!
Good Luck...!!
