My hamster keep bitting me and very soon I'm afraid?
I have two itsy bitsy winter white hamster, one is a female and the other is a male (pss I put them together surrounded by a cage the whole time) they are really cute and lovely but after a few weeks, both of them keep bitting me and they never permit go. I tried to scoop them up but they keep bitting my finger and when I put their favorite treats at the middle of my handsIt never work! They did like peas in a pod thing. Bite!
do not hold it by its neck and i dunno what to tell you
but don't cart that advice of holding the neck..
it hurts hamsters
they are not cats
I had a white hampster when i be younger and it did the same thing. For some reason, white hampsters come across to be a lot more ill tempered than the brown ones. My suggestion, get rid of them or buy a chain link glove to pick them up, explicitly what I had to do. And next time, make certain you buy a brown one. A
nd if you have a male and a womanly together then get ready for lots of babies, my hampster be pregnant when i got her and I never new it until I went to nurture her and their were eleven hairless babies under her. and whether she does have babies, take the male out because he will take out them. and once the babies start growing hair and getting old enough to get through solid foods, seperate them because they will kill each other also. I came domestic one day to find a dead baby that the rest have started to eat.
Pick them up by the little scruff on their collar so that they can't bite.Like a mama holds a puppy.
Actually you picked the most aggressive type of hamster... you would have dont better getting a Robo.
Answers: I don't know a lot about hamsters but I own been reading up on them. What I found out is that hamsters are nocturnal. I read that that's why they bite is because they sleep all day and they don't want to play until nighttime. If you pick them up during the morning when they want to sleep that's why they keep biting. I also read that gerbils are a better choice because they are not nocturnal and you can play with them whenever you want.
Use a gardening glove on your hand.
