My rabbit died this afternoon...?
He was at the vets being neuter and his heart stopped during the operation :(
RIP Phoenix.
Anybody else had something like this happen? How did you do business with it?
The vet is a rabbit murderer!
RIP
The vet is stressful to rabbits.
My rabbit has become very traumatized. But pulled through.
My first rabbit had a trip of 2 hours and died due to grill shock and overall fear.
There isn't much more you can do.
I'm sorry to hear you had to go through this too.
If you capture another rabbit. Make sure that it is very socialized to people, vet, and everything that way their little bodies are ready.
I'm sorry to hear about your rabbit. It's greatly sad when that happens. I hope you will get another one when the time is right and that you will grow to love it too. :)
This is a common numbers when a vet spays or neuters a rabbit. They are much less tolerant of anesthetics than dogs and cats.
Problem is most rescues and societies don't report this kind of tragedy, They lately want everyone to spay and neuter so soon there will be no more pets at all.
Sorry you lost your pet.
AWW, i'm so sorry! at least hes go one to a better place now (Heaven) RIP Bunny <--- i haven't have this happen, did u put to much pressure on him?
Well adjectives I can say is deal with it approaching any other pet death. But for the record, rabbits and other rodents don't always pilfer to anesthesia very well. I suggest subsequent time (if you decide to have another rabbit which I highly recommend) going to a small animal clinic to be precise rabbit savvy.
so sad my mums little dog died after neutering so sad at lowest the poor thing won't have suffered. light a candle contained by your pets memory it does ease the pain a little and you can estimate of him whilst it's burning.
rabbits do have heart attacks... my wife got blagged into having two bunnies, and consequently i pointed out that we have 4 lurchers...
a few weeks later, the kids let the rabbit out, while the dogs be also out... the rabbit had a HA before the dogs got anywhere to hand it...
we never had a rabbit again...
When I've had pets pass away, I obtain a new one. I know some people don't like to have a feeling like they're replacing a good friend, but having a brand new one keeps busy me from constantly thinking about the one that passed absent. I just end up with so much to do trying to gain the new one acclimated to a new home that it keep me from getting too depressed.
Yeah, three dogs died last year. It devasted me - I love animals...they are so much more comforting than humans. Dealing near it, I just had to rely on time, whilst I miss them as much as I first did I approaching you will be able to accept it better - if that make sense, RIP, you're in my thoughts xx
i'm so sorry, my rabbit died a few years ago during an operation to have an absess removed, it have complications which would have meant he would suffer and they asked my mum during the op if they should put him down. i be devasted, i absaloutly loved him, he was my pride and joy :(
i understand your anguish, i dont know how i coped, i just cried my heart out but carried on with life and eventually moved on.. i know its tricky :(
maybe once the spring comes you could get another rabbit :)
Hi...I've be raising and showing rabbits for 10 years. Kuunoita is completely right. It's not your fault though, vets, rescues, etc.. are enormously ill informed about rabbits and push for things that are extremely unhealthy and strong on rabbits. I know this doesn't help you get through it but I'm sorry. Losing a pet is extremely difficult.
I'm so sorry for you. Have you ever heard of the Rainbow Bridge?
Read this and maybe it'll give support to. You can also read what people wrote in their little memorials on this site and have a well-mannered cry while you do. God knows I did when my cockatiel got killed.
A upright cry and time will help a lot. Hope you have a friend to be at your side. Some empire claim they're just animals, but they just don't know.
Good luck to you.
my cat died during the op.Vet said some small animals are allergic to the anaesthetic.I was really upset and im a adult .If you have a garden you could bury him within. You will grt over it naturally.sorry about your rabbit.
omg i am panicky now my rabbit is ment to be getting neutered soon.
i cant loose him.
i am sooooo sorrry to hear that happened.
I'm sorry for your loss . I have a rabbit who died during an op to have him fixed and it was heart breaking but you just own to give it time and grieve. Sometimes these things happen and there is not a soul to blame.
Oh my honesty i am so sorry. I have worked at a vet for years and i unfortunately have see this happen a few times with rabbits. They are really sensitive. Did you know of any heart murmurs?
awww bless
was old was your rabbit?
capably i have had many animals god know how many but i use to think that the animals where within watching over me (i know that sound silly but it use to get me through it )
im really sorry to hear almost your rabbit
and mine died last month
his incisors grew really big at the back of his mouth so he had to own an operation to shave them down as he was dehydrated and couldnt eat.
he be 3 years old, and he did make it through the op, so the next morning i took him to the vets for a check up and they said he was fine and making a brilliant recovery and next the day after that he was struggling to breathe, he then passed absent.
i know exactly how you feel i love animals and he was my little one too i loved him so much and i couldnt talk to anyone, i blamed myself but the vets reassured me. try and gossip to someone about it. i ended up talking to my mum and it made me discern better or just try and keep busy
again im really sorry
xx
i so sorry but i scared for my rabbit it is a mother and within is a parasite in her head and if this medication what the vet give me doesn't work it will have to get put down
Actually, i know exactly what happen. if you used oine shavings with him at all or whether he was EVER exposed to any, it makes the liver really overactive and it will cause extermination in bunnies once they are put under. i am truly very sorry.
Yeah my cat when I be little. I made a little grave for her, and put her remains in it. Was sad, but a short time ago remember the good times. =)
take care
Answers: I am so very sorry.
That's a rare fact, but does happen.I knew a lady who lost her boxer dog that track too:-(
Yeah my duck died. But he drowned instead.
Sorry to hear, as my 2 hamsters died not long and I really miss them.
My cat got really ill and he have to be put down.
I know this is different but I know how hard it is. After it happened i'd look for him and then remember. You'll be fine. Just don't permit anyone tell you you're being silly whether you cry or what ever.
I cried loads that day and a little the days after and then I seem to get it out of my system. I put a photo of him on my wall in a frame to remember him That helped me.
Awww r.i.p :(
Sorry to hear about that but don't expect too much sympathy from the losers on this website.
When I be growing up I found my favourite cat squashed in the road. I was 7 and I cried for days. I'm certain you'll deal with it a whole lot better than I did afterwards.
