People who hold pets, why do you spend so much money on a pet when there's kids out here who hold nil?
try helping them and put food on there tables
Maybe these people do not have time for a child, or would not be the best parent for a child, psychologically?
No one ever have to explain to a parakeet about life, death, sex, drugs, rape, and everything else specifically good bad or difficult.
And maybe, also, it is none of your trade how other people spend their own money?

People give money to charity all the time, people help out the occasional homeless person, and people help culture out all the time! Did you ever think it is people's fault for have so many kids? Huh? Nope, I bet you didn't.
I have twenty three animals, and care for them adjectives, and spend half of the money that's left on a good charity for homeless, mentally under the weather, or orphanages in my state every month.
Stop being so judgmental and actually THINK past you post a completely ignorant rant on here. You are going to get worse answers, so you might as well delete it. I despise ignorant people DX

Oh yeah, maybe can't own children for some reason, and they aren't prepared for a child, and maybe they DID have a child but something happen, and it hurts them way to much to think about adopt a child, so they settle for a little pet instead.
Honestly, because I don't give a crap roughly speaking starving kids way on the other side of the world. Plus I only enjoy enough money after living expenses and food and such, to afford to take care of my animals. I can't afford to be giving money absent to some organization that I don't know if my money is even going to the people or not. They're plenty of greedy general public scamming others out there.
I know I take good thought of all of my animals though, no matter what. They come before I do. And I donate supplies and some money to the animal shelter within my area, where I can go surrounded by and see how the money's been put to use or how the animals enjoy the supplies or whatever.
Why don't you shift spend every last cent you've got on those kids who have nil?

There's also a hell of alot more homeless pets out there than annoying kids.
Heaps of pets die a day from being starved, vanquished, crammed in dirty cages, tested on, abused [shot, kicked too death, run over purposely, hung etc.].
Because it's not my job to feed someone else's damn kids.
I donate to many charities that help starving children every year. My pets deserve food too.
Other people's kids are not my problem. If they couldnt afford to provide for their children, then they should hold taken precautions to prevent a pregnancy.
Why should my decision to have a pet be based on someone else's ruling to have kids? I work and manage my bills to afford the luxuries I do have. Its not my responsability to support someone else's kids.
Besides, as a working creature, I already have tax dollars that are going into the welfare system... against my choice!
Animals have a life to. They have a heart, lungs,etc. It's not their imperfection someone took them in and spends money on them. So are you saying abandon animals and spend money on poor.
Why? Because I can't really adopt children. I'm 20. I'm skeptical of any of those places that offer to care for a child for "20 cents a day." My house gives to St. Jude's every Christmas. I've given homeless people sandwiches. Am I one of those crazy pet relations who buy $4000 worth of clothes for their dog, no.
And for the record, my life's ambition is to adopt children from foster care system. So apparently, you CAN do both.
If you have a sneaking suspicion that about it there's a lot of stray pets out there (mainly cats and dogs) that enjoy nothing either, and because of overcrowded shelters many are person put down everyday. You don't see many places putting down kids everyday because they don't have room for them.
Plus a lot of relations (like me) almost consider their dogs like their babies. Though I like to spoil my dog I'm still pretty cheap (think dollar unit at target).

whether you have the money for the pet then spend it on the pet. if you hold kids then spend the money on the kids. I personally am not responsible for some one elses kid. I put food on the table for both my pets and my kid.
Answers: If I donate to an organization, just a tiny fraction of that money will actually go to helping children. Most will be skimmed off by administration factions and employees along with other costs of running a nonprofit 'business'.
My fixed funds wouldn't make any difference after all of those other people lug their cut, thus, I help animals.. MOST people do donate primarily to human causes..
Instead of bash people who are doing something in their community for another living thing, why not turn bash those who do nothing at all? Only about 30% of relatives in the US volunteered at all last year. On average, those population only volunteered about 32 hours each. Overall, the population of the entire US just volunteered an average of 8 hours for all of 2007. MOST of that was spent volunteering with children and seniors. Only 14% of time be spent on 'other' volunteering which would include volunteering at a museum, library or for an animal shelter or park service..
I'm not going to feel bad for helping animals when MOST of the population doesn't do a darn thing for anyone and when MOST of the nation that do choose to help others already help people..
When everyone else in fact does something to help, then maybe I'll put more application into people.
As a side point, I work full time at one job, have another factor time job and still find time to volunteer..
because there not my kids.
i do give money to charity.food at food drives.and donate toys,clothes,and institution supplies.
and there are alot of animals dieing of hunger too.
and also my pets need to munch through too.
Its my money I can spend it on what ever I want..
why dont you approach somebody in a HUMMER (or any elevated priced car) and say to them "HEY THERE ARE KIDS STARVING - WHY DO YOU DRIVE SUCH A VECHICLE?"
you see - spending money on one thing - pets or car.. doenst stop the other..
how much do you donate to charity? may I propose you sell your computer and get rid of your interned and donate that $ to the food bank?

Animals touch emotions and pain too. Having 2 cats and a ferret is very rewarding to me. And for your information I do donate to charities and help kids out.
My pets are the simply kids I have. I do my share of donating money to charity's. Do you donate money to your local humane society?
why do you spend your money on internet access? Next month use it to nurture a child and leave off the goofy questions.
i do every christmas we give alot. we bequeath and give and give and give. im gonna adopt when im elder. i love my pets. but ya know money is tight right now. we have to buy the stuff we need first. near all these buisnesses closing down.
