PLEASE, anyone know something on training rabbits or something beside this entry, it's so annoying?
I'm looking after my g/f's rabbit for a few months and its already drivin me nuts. Its up EARLY in the morning and noisy all darkness. Is there anything i can to keep it quiet? Seriously, i involve help bad. What can I do to keep it serene at night, keep it happy, anything. Grooming, comfort, and all that. And can i trim the nails? Any certain things I gotta do? Any relieve, awesomely appreciated.
if you are going to trim the nails you should know how to see pink in the nail do not cut that bit as the rabbit will bleed as long as you can see throu the nail its fine. play near the rabbit and give him lots of attention make him a hidy hole so he can curl up at nite and touch safe if all else fail take him ring your local pet shop and ask them if they look after rabbit and how much do they charge
Lol oh dear. I'm afraid there's not much you can do to prevent a rabbit from scratch around at night!
My only advice is to move it to a different room while you're sleeping??
Clipping the nail wont help, it will only make them shorter but they will still be in attendance. Rabbits naturally want to dig and scratch around for food etc.
It's not a behavioral problem or anything, it's not because it's depressed or doesn't like you. There's no training you can do to teach the rabbit to not scuffle around while you're sleeping. It's simply natural behavior!
Maybe try to put more bedding in the hutch to help muffle the clap?
Or literally just move it to another room!
You could let it out around your room at night so it's not bang around in the cage? But there will be deeply of poo and wee to clean up, or try to litter train it?? Can be a lot of work with a rabbit who isn't used to it.
See which corner he prefers to pee contained by and place the litter tray there and he should hopefully start to use it as a toilet...

Answers: Buddy.. Rabbits are MOST Active (a) Dawn and Dusk & usually do the bulk of their sleeping during the day.. so no matter what you do.. you can't avoid the sounds/noises.. Ours is trained so it runs around the house and at times it will be surrounded by our room at night.. making a lot of noise digging etc. I've freshly learned to ignore it and sleep.. and sometimes I"ll close my door so I can't hear it as much..
The best thing to do is basically try to avoid it and keep sleeping.. or get a evening job and sleep during the days :)
Okay exercise it a lot more so its more tired at darkness. #2 put a blanket over its cage so he/she knows its time to go to bed. #3 buy it some current toys so it'll be more occupied. o yea and something to chew on. they're teeth never stop growing ya' know? Yes you can trim they're nails but i would have a Professional do it. its not graceful. Hope i helped!
