Well I guess it depends on what category of rabbit you have. My husband trained a rabbit to use a litter box. I think you can just catch a regular rabbit cage at walmart or a feed store or tractor supply company, ace hardware some place like that. I don't have an idea that you should use cedar chips because the acid will irritate the rabbits feet, maybe pine shavings or kitty litter, a rabbit round up will have a tray underneath for their potty. No lettuce or celery, it will give them the poops. Carrots, apples, oranges, . Just remember they don't focus as fast as we do, so look out when you pet them. If you pet them from the front, they may just see a hand coming toward them and not realize that you just want to pet them, and might imagine you are going to hit them, so they might snap at you. They don't focus as fast as we do. They also eat grass and clover. They need a chew block to database down their teeth like a pine block. Clip the nails like you do your dogs. They enjoy rabbit pellets to feed them at walmart, or any pet store. You would do better with a river bottle so they don't get their feet in a wet dish.
Be careful who you listen to on Y.A. it's hard to report to who's full of it and who's not. Search "rabbitries" on the net and contact them and read the info on their pages, they have tons of experience raise them and are usually more than happy to answer any question. Anyone looking to raise rabbits needs to know they are quite demanding and inevitability special care, but it's a rewarding experience. However, they don't do well in extreme warmth and cold below -10. Metal cages are preferable (however I've used wooden hutches for years that I built myself with NO problems but they need to be disinfected regularly or after a sick bunny) because they are smaller quantity likely to harbor bacteria. Don't use chicken wire they can and will chew through it, a small determine wire is best to let droppings go and to hold on to snakes, rats etc out. In the summer they don't really need bedding but in the winter supply them with FRESH hay merely or alfalfa, timothy, etc because they DO eat it!! Fruits and veg only as treats and ALWAYS introduce new foods little by little even if switching brands of feed. Some people even graze their rabbits day by day but it depends on if that's what your rabbits are used to, any sudden splurge can make a bunny very sick.
I have a rabbit for years along with several cats. We kept the rabbit in a large shut within that had the metal grate in the bottom. A slide out tray had bedding within it underneath the cage that could be easily cleaned.
Get a little corner litter box for inside the coop. The rabbit will use it.
There are some very good bulk feeds that you can take your rabbit to eat. They look like pellets.
Alfalfa hay is really honest for their digestion and they LOVE bananas.

What is with the thumbs down?
Answers: Hi! They dont other do good with other animals, but some will, it all depends on the rabbit. Either bearing, be sure to introduce them slowly and never leave them alone without supervision. Any coop with a wire bottom is cruel. It will give them a condition call Sore Hock. So any wire bottoms are bad! They need at least possible 2x4 cage, but thats small in my opinion. Im building a 5x12 for my two. Id propose not buying a store bought cage, but making a NIC condo. Check out the website below for pictures. You can buy the grids at bed-bath-and-beyond, walmarts web site, however ones from targets enjoy to big of openings. Care fresh is what I used with one bunny. But it got to be too expensive. Now I use Equi-litter. Its a horse stall bedding (like wood stove pellet, but its safe) that you can get at a farm/horse/feed store. No one here on answers ever believes that is safe, but I know it is, dont verbs. Veggies are a yes, fruit is a no. They need veggies everyday, my two get 8 cups of veggies a day together. They own very sensitive digestive tracts, so introduce only one at a time. Wait about a week in the past they get anything new, so you know that their systems arent negatively affected. Fruits are a treat solitary! Two a week at most. The size being about the size of your thumb nail. Other treats (store bought treats) are not normally good. Anything with seeds surrounded by the ingredients is a no-no. The pet store business is just trying to make money, its not perfect for them. Either are salt and mineral blocks. They dont need them, they should get everything they obligation out of their pellets and veggies. Check out the site for a list of veggies and fruits that are safe. A correct pellets is Oxbow! Thats what mine eat and ill never nurture them anything different. But anything with color pieces, seeds (anything but straight pellets) are bad. Again the store is trying to construct money and sell it because it looks better to us, but its not. The rabbit will pick out the colorful pieces and leave the rest. They will be overweight and not as healthy later. They need at least 3 hours of play time, again mine get more. The hay is the most meaningful thing in the diet. Alfalfa is only for babies (under 7 months) and timothy is over 7 months. The fully developed bunnies (over 7 months) can also have orchard, meadow and brome hay. Things they like, toys etc: craft sticks soaked within apple juice, willow toys, plastic baby toys, polar fleece blankets, rugs, plastic cat toys, baby rings(links), phone books( i promise its safe) and all right washed plastic laundry soap caps. Email me if I moved out anything out. Good luck and hope this helps!
