Putting indoor guinea pigs external?
hiya, i have two female piggies that are two years old, but my mum is giving them absent :( theyve lived inside theyre whole lives, but obviously going outside for a short time run about... but mums giving them to my sister who said shes going to put the outside coz she cant deal next to the mess... is this okay for them??????!
thanks in advance
No, its not ok at adjectives. I have had many guineas throughout the years and they are massively susceptible to cold and draught. They are not rabbits. They could go out during a warm summer but need a well-mannered shelter and lots of hay. However if they have been indoors since you have them, do not let them go outside. If you do they'll soon be inert. How about advertising them to a real guinea lover instead of giving them to your sister?
The poor things.
definitely not, I have guinea pigs and mine live outside all the time, are fine next to extra hay in the cold, but had one formerly that lived in the house and the first day of sunny weather he was put external to get some grass, sadly I forgot he was external until really late and it had turned very cold, I get him in but he was very cold, he died the subsequent day.
Hope you find a happy ending, its distraught when you have to part with them.
i dont think this is a good opinion. they will not be used to the cold temperatures, therefore could freeze to death where on earth there bodies are not used to being external :( i dont think its a good idea.
They're unbelievably sensitive to temperature, I've had guinea pigs come down with grill prostration when I lived in Texas and Arizona.
Answers: whether you left them out for 1 hour one day then 2 hours and so on next leave them out over night they will be o.k. as long as they are kept inside a garage or shed over night they will be fine. don't hold any notice of the others eho say they WILL DIE cuz they won't if you they are thaw out in a shed!
hope i could help!
lol animal mad
don't put your guinea pigs external. something could eat them or they will get to cold. They are not ment to be outside!
