Question for bunny owners and experts?
Is there a special way of petting a bunny and the bunny likes it,Similar to when you stroke your cat below its chin?
I have a bunny and I reflect you should experiment a little. My bunny loves being stroked softly on her head and my friend's bunny prefers self stroked on her back.
Hope this helps!
definitely not under the chin-most rabbits abhorrence that! A lot of rabbits like the front of their face above the nose anyone rubbed and others also like their cheeks being rubbed-all rabbits are different so it's best to see what your rabbit enjoys. If they sit still or grind their teeth a bit while you are petting them after they like it-a rabbit wont sit still for long if you do something it doesn't like! I've never however had a rabbit that likes being picked up-they will tolerate it but give the impression of being happier to be petted at ground level.
Answers: Each bunny has its own personality. Trust me on this one. My two rabbits like to be touched within totally different ways and I am going to share and hope this will help you.
My Male. He likes to be cradled. His butt in my paw with his nose between my arm. He likes to be held firm and touched/stoked on his person in charge down to his ears.
My Female. She likes to sit next to me on the sofa or floor and will let me rub between her ears for hours whether I could. She also likes her back to be massaged. If she is additional lovey she will come up to me on my chest and let me rub her that way.
Neither rabbit likes their chins rubbed on. Their sent glands are in attendance and they are very sensitive.
I urge you to try different ways with your bunny and sooner or later you will see what they resembling. good luck
from the tip of the head past the ears down the back, this also works near kittens and dogs ( for the most part its what their parents do to them, its for comforting) mine also love to have their ears scratched a bit...
I found as a rabbit breeder, they really like being rubbed around the remnant of the ears. Not a scratch, but just a gentle but firm rub. Just approaching any animal with a coat or fur always pet in the route the fur lays. They dont like being on their backs for a totally long time, but it is a way to show dominance. Also, they hate being touched around the front or mouth nouns. They're just touchy. Some dont mind it to discouraging. If they are just sitting right side up, they enjoy the ocassional rub on their cheeks. Hope this helps, and I aspiration you the best of luck!
