Small animals that want to be put down?
I care for many small animals and have for the closing eight years. Usually my small animals guinea pigs rabbits and hamsters will just die on their own. I will go to the cage to thieve them out or feed them and they will be dead.
this was the satchel up until recently. I had a rabbit that I bought from the animal rescue league so I was unsure of the age and such but i assumed she be old. she had a heart attack had a guide tilt and her eye was sort of popped out. I took her to the vet and had her put down but since she was a rabbit i have to find a special vet. on top of that it was a sunday after six. when all be said and done i had to pay $250 to have her put down. i didnt intellect she was in a lot of torment and wasnt to get better
my question is that if this happen again what sort of things can i use to drug or kill an animal that this happens to. I want something that is calm and wont cause any pain. is this possible or is it vet all the method?
im not a cruel freak im just not a fan of dropping off my animals that own been so good to me to a vet. I would feel more comfortable doing so surrounded by my own home while holding the animal. what is a humane way to do this?
The kind of cats that have be born with TWO HEADS should be put down, and a snake with TWO HEADS.
I wouldn't try and put anything down myself, I'd be to scared of cause the animal more pain. The vet is the best way.
We're lucky here in the UK as small animals are intensely common so we don't need to find specialized vets, it individual cost me lb5 (which is about $10 i think), to have my hamster put down. We can also stay with the animal until it's olden away too.

they use slow suffocation from CO2, which doesnt hurt them at all. they simply go to sleep.

Wow $250 is a fair amount to enjoy an animal euthanized.
I think it cost less to have our dog put down, even though the vet have to be called out to the house during the night.
In the future, its probably not too prominent to go to a small animal expert when you are having one euthanized- most vets are pretty experienced at getting dosages right for that side of their practice.
I will truly go out of my way (like, 300km) to have my infirm vet euthanize my animals- he charges $10 and gasses them before he gives them the injection- how can you beat that?
The medication administered to animals when they are one put to sleep is just a stonger dose of anasthetic. Usually they inject the animal with it, but it is also possible to gas the animal.
From here you can recreate this setup at home, but it can be expensive- particularly when you are not using it frequently- it probably wouldnt be worth it.
Im not quite sure how you set them up- but I know that labs and places that breed animals for snake food, etc will use this technique for euthenasing small animals. If you talk to your vet approximately this they should be able to give you some advice.
