What are the aspects of anyone a veterinarian?
I am doing a essay about my career in a few years
Answers: It's crucial to realize that it's not all about "lots of contact with cute animals". If that's what you what you're better bad being a technician. The vet is the one who has to deal next to the clients and the laws and money issues. They're not the ones that get to play with the cute animals and they don't return with to spend a lot of time getting to know the animals.
Vets have a very tricky job. People aren't always willing to money for services that will save cute little fluffy. It will be hard when a client refuses treatment on a condition specifically easily treatable because they can't afford it. It's even harder when you see them drive away in a brand contemporary lexus. It's hard to put that animal to sleep because the owners are tired of it waking them up at 6 in the morning to stir outside.
Don't get me wrong it's not all doomed to failure. I'm currently in vet school and these are some of the things that I hadn't realized back I worked in a clinic. There are good things, but I suspect you already know what they are or you wouldn't want to be one. There are good pet owners out nearby are they will be appreciative of what you do for them, but you need to be aware that it's not all about playing next to cute animals. You have good people skills and you own to like people or you will hate your situation.
Good - Lots of contact with cute animals :)
- Save animal's lives
- Eventually you earn a LOT of money
- You're respected in the community for doing such a tough job
Bad - It's harder to acquire into Animal Medicine than Human Medicine
- You have to go for years earning exceptionally little money and working very hard
- Animals can't tell you whats wrong, and they can't say-so thankyou.
I can't think of anything else right now .. that's just from my own experience and research a few years ago when I be going to chose it as a career too.
