What other dry foods can mix my rabbits pellet food near?
i feed him unlimmited hay rabbit pellets, and alfalfa cubes and i'm going to start feeding him the vegetables my rabbit attention to detail book recommends. i was wondering what other dry foods can i mix With my rabbits pellet food? is rice or oatmeal o.k.? cooked or uncooked? and are in attendance any dry beans he could eat?..ummmm and what about cheerios? thanks alot :)
For my rabbits I mix corn with their pellet. I give them some of the leftovers after a family teatime. We had rice one night with corn and peas and they ate it right up. It's ok to dispense it to them once in a while. It doesn't matter if the rice is cooked or raw. I also give my rabbits all the scraps of veggies, kinda approaching a dog, they love it!!
Don't mix the pellets near anything else because the other foods aren't natural for the rabbit (cheerios, etc.). Unlimited timothy hay, pellets, and vegetables (carrots, lettuce, etc.) should be just fine for your bunny. Some fruits spawn good treats every once in awhile. It's really that simple!
Answers: Cheerios are okay as a treat. Once contained by awhile. If you are feeding a complete rabbit pellet, then he doesn't involve anything else. Feeding hay is good but it should be a grass type hay and not alfalfa.
Vegetables and fruits should be limited to a treat once in awhile also. Too heaps people are giving out misinformation about feeding (or overfeeding) fresh foods to rabbits. They do not necessitate them and too many can harm the rabbit.
