The cow was one of the first domesticated animals, and humans knew that milk come out of those since milk comes out of our own breasts and obviously they saw how the cows reproduced and how they nursed their young. I'm not sure why we arranged to drink another animal's milk, it really isn't natural and isn't good for you at all, particularly with all the hormones in milk at the moment.
