Who think pets at domestic is a bit of a rip rotten?

for the price of the toys they sell. i bought my rats a parrot toy from them ages ago, i paid something close to lb5.99 for it, well i was in wilkinsons before today and i saw exactly the same toy and it be only 99p.
Then go look around!

I work within Pets At Home and though we do some great specialist stuff and we can be fairly cheap, we're not the cheapest on the market by far, especially when it comes to small animal toys, which REALLY let us down.

But there's nothing to stop YOU from shopping around, so don't complain when you make a bad buy.
Yes, the toys are a rip off. That's why, when I went surrounded by earlier to get some rabbit food I looked at the toys and decided not to spend lb5.99 on a bit of painted wood. Instead I'm going to obtain them a tree branch or something.

The rabbit food isn't a bad price though, and it is one of the few places where I can acquire the junior pellets. The pet bedding is about the same as everywhere else.

I guess what I am trying to say-so is that places are always going to have some bargains and other things that will be a rip sour. Just don't buy the rip off items and if enough those do that they will have no choice but to reduce the price.
Answers:    Some things are more expensive but some are not. To be fair a place like Wilkinsons will other be cheap and cheerful so you will probably find their prices pretty much at the bottom of the range. You would think though that Pets at Home would use their group buying power to buy products at better prices and pass that good on to the consumer.
But then some products are very low margin and that's why you find abundantly of beddings and foods are usually very comparable with other stores.
I feel though that in the general scheme of things i've not found them to be conspicuously over the top expensive compared to some small local stores who have to buy products for the top price, I just think that Pets at Home could dispense more to the consumer.
However I don't tend to use Pets at Home myself as I don't agree with the way they sell their animals and the big scale breeding centres they buy animals from so take my custom to places which don't go animals and so don't support animals being bred over and over in cramped conditions. Plus I have found the suggestion given and knowledge of staff to be very poor - personally I don't suppose anybody should be able to work with animals who doesn't have some height of degree/education in them!
wow.. I guess within the future just buy online or atleast research what the prices should be. You dont want to over pay for something similar to that by that much!
