10 gallon reservoir snake?

i used to have 5 hermit crabs in a 10 gallon container ... hermit crabs were really boring for me .. but now i own a 10 gallon aquarium and i have no clue what to get someone told me about corn snakes but they carry pretty big ... so is there any other snakes that stay small and are easy to care for? ? whether not can you think of and pets other then fish and hermits to put within the tank ?
corn snakes are the smallest snake avellible for retail (not wild caught but bought) an anole can be in a 10 gallon tank so can a house gecko but u cnat hold eather of those
You're really limited to one species of commercially available snakes...the Kenyan Sand Boa (garter snakes, rough green snakes, and hognose snakes def need a bigger tank). I've had great nouns with Kenyan Sand boas in 10 gallons.and they are sold at chain petstores approaching PetsMart.

Corn Snakes require at least a 20 gallon long tank...so that's out of the question.

Green anoles, Green Tree Frogs, Fire-Bellied Toads, African Clawed Frogs, Fire-Belly Newts, Pac-Man Frogs, and Leopard Geckos can be housed within a 10 gallon (only one animal at a time, though).

EDIT: A smooth green snake should be fine, but rough green snakes are capable of reaching lengths of 45.8" long and that's way too big for a 10 gallon (on top of human being pretty active snakes). And Kenyan Sand Boas are definately captive bred------------>just my $.02
receive a plain old garter snake. they are about 10-20 $ at a pet shop. they eat worms and fish

You can't really keep a reptile in a ten gallon container because you can't distribut heat properly. You can try a frog. That's the only thing I can come up with of at the moment.
I if truth be told would recommend a Rose Haired Tarantula. The cage size is ideal, they're hardy and, if it's a feminine, long lived, they're slow, docile, and don't have many care requirements similar to heating or misting. They really only need dirt, a small hose down dish, a log hide, and a cricket every few days.
a few anole lizards, long tailed lizard, hognose snake, kenyan sand boa, rubber boa, pac man frog, pixie frog.
mabey a milk snake? you would own to do more reserch though.
corn snakes
Answers:    Actully I believe a rough or smooth scaled green snake is fine for a 10 gallon.

These are relatively small slender snakes 2-4 feet.
These are wonderful little snakes, pretty active and docile.
Though crickets will make up the majority of their diet, green snakes eat a verity of insects, land worms, lizards, amphibians, and rarely small rodents( primarly pinkies) as well.
Being arboreal - a tall instead of far-reaching enclosure is preferred but a stand 10-20 gallon aquarium / vivarium is fine. When I kept these snakes,I had no problem from keeping the humidity at 50%-60% but some suggest high. Like most snakes you want a hide box ( I used a small old clay plant pot broke in half). Providing lots of cover and climbing nouns with fake plants is a wonderful addition. There are a verity of substrates you can use- alfalfa pellet, coconut fiber/husk, potting soil ( without perlite), moss, aspen and cypress shaving/mulch/bark, repta-bark products, outdoor/reptile carpeting.
I consider an UVB light source a MUST with these snakes. A 2.0 or 5.0 fluorescent tube,a full spectrum plant & aquarium fluorescent tube can be used near this to create a better color viewing index. A standard 50-75 watt bulb should provide adequate heat as well as the bask spot. Heat pads can of course be used alone or with a wishy-washy. Be sure that the snake can not come in contact with any hot surfaces and to use a thermoregulator to control temperature.
