60 watt warmness bulb for snakes and turtles?
I use a plain 60 watt bulb (just any kind you'd use for a regular lamp) in a heat kerosene lamp I share between my snake and my turtles, is that too much for either of em? I used to use those black light party bulbs, but I run out.
Are there any concerns I should have?
EH!wrong answer!I dont mean 2 be mean but u have need of a uvb light u also need a uva light but theyll be fine beside the uvb.u should get a 50 watt it is safer for them.
Ho ho oohhhhhhhh!
u also need a lamp thingy 2 budge with it because the regular ones will burn out.
Hope i helped=)
I don't know turtles well, but your snake needs stomach heat, not a light unless you live in a remarkably cold environment.
Get him an undertank heater that will fit about a third of the tank and stick it to the bottom. Then run that on a thermostat, so you can set it for 85 degree. The other side will be his cool side so that he can go back and forth to thermoregulate. Make sure you put a pelt on both sides so he doesn't have to choose between being the right temperature, or foreboding safe and 'hidden'..
Answers: There are several concerns. Depending on the type of turtle and snake, you may have to much or too little warmness for them.
You really should find out what the correct temperature and lighting is for each of your critters, next get a thermometer and check the temps, then decide what to do.
Also the turtle may necessitate UVA and UVB light depending on the species. This requires special bulbs. Most snake species generally do not require UV light.
With out knowing more nearly what species you have I can't tell you much more than that. If you tell me more, I can oblige more. :D
But here are some pages with care sheets, your reptiles are probably somewhere nearby.

Edit:
Kings:
84-88 degrees F on the warm end and 70-75 degree at the cool end.
Painted:
The water should be 70° - 75° F and can be maintained near a submersible aquarium heater. The basking area should be 84° - 88° F during the daylight time of year. This can be maintained with an incandescent light.
UV lighting can be favourable.
Couldn't find anything on the other two turtles, I'll add if I find anything. :D

A bunch of turtle care sheets. Should own the info you need for the other two.
I would say if you are sharing one bulb for adjectives those animals you could not have your temps right for any of them.
This site has some great info on lighting & heating.
