A few question nearly my fresh lizard?

ok just got a new Schneider skink and i savour it very much . my question is i do have a uvb bulb for it so he can seize access to the uv rays but he buries under the sand a lot i have the hurricane lantern on for 12 hours a day is he getting enough exposure to uv rays if he is underneath the sand a lot?

also how the hell can he stay under the sand for like 20 mins at a time and still breathe?? and is he crawling underneath the sand because he is shedding or is this a normal behavior for them to do regardless?
He will be fine. It is in their nature to burrow, don't verbs about him not having enough exposure to the uvb/uva. I also will assure you, he can breathe.
The sand particles have small air spaces between them and that allows for the lizard to win enough oxygen to breathe. As far as I know that is normal behavior. The certainty the UV bulb is on and he does expose himself to it will provide him what he needs from it.
Answers:    the Schneider's skink is a partly fossoral species meaning it does spend some of its time digging and underground so this is totally majority. and dont worry about uv exposure as long as u have it correctly placed within the enclosure there isnt anything to worry going on for
