A List of Foods That I can nurture my Monitor Lizard?
I need a list of ALL the foods that I can feed my Savannah Monitor, Hes impressively picky so I need to vary his diet more. Because of this he has lost some immensity. So whats a good food to help him gain weight as powerfully, but still be healthy for him? Hes quite a fussy eater but I love him dearly, Expert help is greatly appreciated!
Mice..that's all they require as adults. As long as he is accepting mice you have nothing to verbs about. (is he refusing mice).
If it;s still a juvie, then crickets and roaches should still be utilized as slice of the diet.
If you're still looking for something else, check out the San-Diego Monitor Diet ..it's world famous and is supposed to be nutritionally equivalent to mice.
I'll star this question and maybe "Varanid" will see it ..I'd hang around until he's able to give his 2cents until closing the question. He's the monitor guy on Y-Answers.
Savannahs should have a varied diet consisting of insects, rodents and specially prepared canned monitor foods. If your lizard is loosing seriously of weight, a trip to the vet will provide him with a planned diet to help him achieve his weight back and an examination to check for of any internal bedbugs.
Answers: so your sav. is a fussy eater huh? capably with out any info/details on your husbandry there is no way you can receive an even piece way educated guess let alone a "correct" answer. as a rule when i hear that a sav. is not eating or is a very sporadic feeder, i think its not hot plenty and by extension is generally not being cared for properly as a in one piece. savs. are pigs. they will pig out even when half dead(so think about yours). varying its diet is not the answer since, as "obilysk" stated mice and bug alone are great. anything else is going down the path of failure. soooooooooooooooo my "guess" is it will probably start eating all right if you set it up correctly. to learn how to do that first look up past question here and on other info sites like http://www.kingsnake.com. then start asking questions just about all you've learned. most importantly, listen to your monitor. they tell you what they necessitate.
any rodents, birds, huge insects and smaller reptiles will do as they eat these naturally in the blustery.
