About my newt's lifespan?

I've had my red-bellied newt for about 10 years. I was wondering how much longer will he live? I'm fairly surprised that he has reached this age, because he was a few years hoary when we got him. Do newts have long life-spans? I'm still not ready to utter goodbye to him, since I spent some time growing up with him.

in the wild 10-15 is a apposite life but they can hit 20 with good keeping in captivity (altho this is in no way guaranteed)
