Are slow worms snakes? Do they craft righteous pets?

I was reading online, and a guy said "I don't want a corn snake, they're too big," and a person responded with "Corn snakes aren't big snakes? Why don't you only get a blooming slow worm?" At first I thought it was a joke, that he be telling him to go catch a worm from his pay for yard, but then I looked it up, and they look snake-like.

I also want to know if they put together good pets.. if they're friendly, like mortal held, if it's easy to keep, glib to get, what they eat.. I know they eat worms, but is that *all* they drink?

Please don't suggest "get a corn/ball python snake". I know, they probably make better pets, but my ancestral doesn't approve of rodent-eating snakes. =/
If you are going to get a snake return with a corn snake as they don't grow too big.and they are the best pet snake.
If you are going to get a snak get a corn snake as they dont grow too big, This adjectives snake grows to an adult size of approx. 2.5 - 5 feet.
The Corn Snake has to be the best learner pet snake there is to own. Available in a range of different colour morphs make choosing exciting. They are easy to care, maintain, nurture and like to be handled.

Good Luck
Answers:    Right as its already been said slow worms are protected in a few countries so u gettin your hands on one is unlikely, they also enjoy some quite hard care requirements (they can be quite picky eaters, temp range can sometimes be challenging etc) they are also moderately shy (dunno where the other guy got his info from) and can be easily stressed whether over handled and disturbed too often.

glass lizards are a closely related lizard species and some what easier to keep hold of altho can still sometimes be hard to feed.

snake species that eat invertebrates
garter snakes
rough/ smooth green snakes (can be knotty to keep)
American brown snakes

all are invert eaters
slow worms are legless lizards, Anguis fragillis, they are live bearers, and can grow to about 18 inches and are found all over europe, they become terrifically tame and live quite long. their main diet is worms and slugs but will help yourself to insects when pushed. hope this helps. They make brilliant pets, but maybe protected here contained by the UK, please check first otherwise its 6 months in prison. yes you are safe in the US, it one and only referred to wild caught in the UK. they are very bring under control and never bite you. they will also occassionally take smaller lizards. The family name for these lizards is ANGUINIDAE. The young at heart are born live and are silver in colour. They should be kept in a woodland cage next to peat moss or soil for substrate, they should be kept between 70-80f have a hide as these are burrowers, several fake/real plants,uv light and the usual calcium suppliments, they are surrounded by the same family as Alligator lizards, galliwasps and American glass lizards ie they are Lateral-fold lizards.
