At what age and size should i start feed my beard dragon pinkies?
I have a baby bearded dragon call Dave and he is currently around 10cm long. What size should he be before i start giving him pinkies.?
Also he keeps staying in one corner of the reservoir for an hour or so looking at the background of his tank (which is a desert theme) and slowly moves his head side to side. Is he ok?
I do pick him up justly regularly and he has plenty of food and warmth.
Answers: I'm sure he's okay. If you're going to nurture pinkies, wait till he's bigger, he's much to small right now. Beardies do not require pinkies, they are okay for a treat every now and after but they're really fatty and not necessary. The only time where it's a honest option as a food source is right after a female has laid eggs.
16 inches (41 cm). And later you should never feed pinkies more than one per 2 weeks, as they have so much fat to them. They also enjoy enough protein that you should cut back on the protein (feeder insects) in the week following the feed.
