Baby Diamond Python colour?
I've tried googling and cant seem to find what Im after - I want to know if Diamond Pythons start out a dull brown colour beside a few flecks before they get their full diamond patterns?
A friend have found what he thinks is a Diamond Python at work but the colour isnt the usual olive green with the distinctive diamond pattern - its singular a young python so I just want to know if the colour change or if hes possibly handling some other kind of snake - hopefully NOT a venomous one!
THere usually black when they are babys.
Most snakes are brighter when there young.. and start to seize duller as they get older.
I have never certain of an olive green diamond python. My guess is that it isn't one. It really is important to research your purchase before you buy. Snakes can live for around 20 years. While day to hours of daylight they require little effort, on the whole they are a big commitment. If your friend has freshly brought this snake, he/she would be best to go to a vet or trusted pet shop to help figure it adjectives out. :)

^ This is a young pure diamond, though colors do change a little with Diamonds. There are Black & White Diamonds, as well as Black & Yellow, the one at the join is Black & White.
Here is a high yellow one(probably at least a yearling):

It's also possible that your friend get a cross - it's hard to find pure diamonds these days so it could look different from being crossed near other Carpet Pythons.
Do you have a picture of your friend's snake? That would make things easier.
