Baby tortoise bit leg?

today my baby tortoise bit his front leg twice.
He didnt do it at all after that?
why did he do it
s he jsut playing or ?
If he's not doing it repeatedly, it sounds resembling he just had a bit of an itch, or (being only a baby) mistook his feeler for something edible. Certainly normal behaviour and nought to be concerned about :o)

I don't know, i'm sure he didn't bite it hard enough to hurt himself. He be probably just hungry and it looked like some slightly moldy meatloaf to him, until he realized it WAS him.
Answers:    whether the food was close to its leg then it was freshly trying to get the food of another reason could be he had eat and the food smell was still on its leg, tortoises eye sight is not that good and they dance on smell a lot so he probably just smelt food and went for it until that time he realized it was his leg, don't worry too much their legs are covered within scales that are really hard like armour so he won't have done any wrong, just put it down to a silly tortoise trait, and no damage be done best of luck honey
To be sure I would advise you to check out turtle comfort forums online. Google, or yahoo, search it. You'll find tons of expert advice
