Ball python sound out?
Can you please tell me if I have everything right for a little one ball python.
20 gallon tank (i will get a bigger one eventually)
aspin substrate
marine bowl big enough for him to curl up in
basking spot log
2 logs as hiding spots one on thaw out side other on cold side
fake leaves on wall of the tank
infa red heat light
Is this right?
you should have atleast a 30 gallon cistern because pythons can get big and a 20 gallon tank is the size for a cornsnake you should get a heat pad 2 u should not have a cold side because it can confuse the snake it should be rather colder in the winter so it would think it is in its instinctive habitat
sounds upright to me, dont use a heat mat though, overhead heating is fine as long as he cannot touch it, or get a guard. put together sure you buy a good thermostat, preferably a dimming one. the night-time drop one is great as the lamp will get cooler during the night. gat a 2% uv oil lamp as well, no uv needed but will stimulate eating habits and looks apposite, brings out the colors in the snake
Answers: aslo what you want to get is a heat pad. for below the basking area. and have one bask area for heat and one to cool off contained by besides that you will be ok . and eventually as it grows and you do get your bigger tank, you may want to buy another heat wad to increase the heated proximity.. good luck.. looks like your on the ball
thats perfect, i have the same .
in recent times a suggestion ; i take the log on the cold side out .
when they go in in attendance hide, they like to be on the warm side (:
you inevitability to make sure you handle it (play next to it)
everydayy .
so it can get used to you and grow to be a loving snake .
good luck !
Sounds great! The only thing I would donate is a humidity and a temperature gage so you know for sure they are at the correct level. Maybe a spray bottle for misting the cage if you live in a low humidity nouns and some dechlorinator for the water. Otherwise you are doing a fantastic job setting up the enclose. Enjoy your snake.
