Ball python substrate?

i was gonna use reptile carpet till i heARD THAT THEY LIKE TO BUROW NOW AND THEN PLZ HELP ME PICK out some good substrate that they can borow contained by
Hey, While your Python is infantile, the best substrate to use would be kitchen towel or newspaper, this is cheap and easy to clean out. Once your Python starts to grow, you can use aspen, yap chips or cage carpet that is washable. A humidity box must be placed surrounded by with your Python. Cut a hole out of the plastic container, place vermiculite and sphagnum moss inside. Another hide should be placed surrounded by the enclosure so your Python can hide away during the hours of daylight. To make the enclose look nice, place a large department with some artificial plants around it. Fresh water should be provide daily surrounded by a dish/bowl so your Python may drink or bathe. This is very important when your Python is due to shed its skin. Once you sense the Pythons eyes go clear after being cloudy, bathe it contained by luc warm water for 10 minutes, dry off later place back in its enclosure. The Python should next shed within 24hrs.

Good Luck.
They do like to burrow but approaching the other person, its dangerous if they ingest most of the available bedding's out at hand. I usually use aspen pellets because it controlled odor the best and is easy to dipper (unless it gets wet) and is safe if ingested, but consequently you have to scoop all of it out and replace when it starts crumbling. It can be time consuming. I switch to a vermiculite when the feminine is gravid but that is only temporary and intricate to clean.

So for you id just propose using the reptile carpet with a few layers of broadsheet on top of that. I say use both because you have to remember the bake pad. Its best to have enough layer on top not only for ease of cleaning but also to help diffuse the bake from the under tank heater so its not too hot.
Answers:    I would go with aspen bedding.
I don't use a loose substrate for my ball. I use newspaper. It's effortless to change. I put a bunch of layers down and he'll sometimes he'll go beneath the top layer. Just make sure you hold some hides available in the cage. I enjoy a half log and a dark shoe box. Newspaper is also good because I can a short time ago put extra over his under tank kiln to regulate temperature. If you do use a loose substrate, feed him in a separate container so he doesn't ingest any.
