Bearded Dragon work area?
I have a 50 gallon aquarium that I recently had for my red-eared sliders. I don't hold them anymore, and was wondering if it would be big enough to hold a beard dragon comfortably.
Help?
a 50 gallon cistern would be perfect he could probably stay in that his whole duration like when they hatch there on there own they hold all the space they could want so a 50 gallon would be good.and with a reservoir like that u could get a male and feminine.
just clean the tank out concrete good red eared sliders are prone 2 salmonella more than any other turtle .
good luck with the beardies
Yep it would be great. I have 4 and hold them all in 50 gallons alone. Please don't try to put several together. They are loners and only coming together to breed. With a mannish and female, you are going to stress her out as he is going to be after her and with 2 males, one is going to be dominate over the other possibly killing it, beside 2 females usually one is going to be the dominate one so as you can see, its just not wise to put more than one contained by a tank. There are those who will argue the point but they have had the bloody case where there own been no problems. Just remember that you will need a UVB that will run the length of the 50 gallon and proper lights for bask to bring the temp to 100-102 degrees on one end, Most owners are going to regular household bulbs instead of the high dollar ones that are sold contained by the pet stores but you will have to experiment with the wattage to get the right temps.
Yes as long as you can grasp it up to the right temp
Beardies need a minimum of a 40 breeder
That is a great size for an mature bearded dragon. Just ensure you have all the right lighting and heating needed for the tank and you will be just fine.
yes that's fine
yup it's the perfect size
Answers: That's good for an adult. A baby/juvenile needs a smaller container because they have a hard time finding the heat contained by a tank that large.
