Handling corn snakes?
is it unhealthy to handle a new corn snake too repeatedly? i know you shouldnt after feeding but how long after until i can? iv been told a few different things , like you should button it only twice a week, or you should handle it several times a day... so im merely wondering if anyone has any info...
yes handle as much as possible it make for a tame snake
i unespectedly had 22 baby snakes eggs laid by my ''male'' snake i read a book and manage to hatch 22 snakes 4 eggs didnt make it but i handled then from time one they made for really nice corns when they were moved on
A brand new corn snake should be left alone for several days to get comfortable. Work up to frequent handling. Start by simply petting while your snake is in its round up. Then handle for short periods of time every other day. Move on to longer period of time more frequently.
Remember that when handling a corn snake, you must support as much of the body as possible. Corns are not arboreal, and cannot cling around a limb like other snakes can.
Give it some corn
Once the snake is comfortable in its new home/cage (1-2weeks) you can bar it as often as you like. when it comes to feeding you should linger 36-48 hours to handle again.
Answers: Corn snakes like any other pet snake will benefit from mortal held, its entirely up to you how often, every day to once a week it doesnt really matter. once feed you should leave alone for a couple of days so that he can start digesting the rodent. if you handle any quicker later there is a chance he could throw it back up. so best to go away alone. the snake will not forget you if you dont handle it very commonly. i handle mine once a week or more if i want to. when on vacation i dont toy with for 3 weeks, because im away. the snake still reconises me when i come back home. so gont verbs, there is no fast rules where snake handling is concerned.
it should be left alone to get use to its unsullied enviroment
