Keeping Pet Snakes????

I love snakes and I'm seriously considering getting a snake... but I don't know much about keeping them, so...

What breeds make good pets?

How much do they cost?

Where do i preserve them?

Do I need to feed them live food?

How oftern, and how much will that cost?

Do they need any special thinking?

Anything else you wanna tell me about snakes?

thanks :)

I'd say if you are first time snake buyer get a cornsnake, they are easiest to manipulate. I wouldn't get a baby one though, maybe a minor as the smaller ones cna have eating problems.
They cost around 80-150 here anyways.
You have to hold them in a tank, that has no holes of which the snake can get hold of out off.
Live food is illiagel in most places and frozen rats/mice are much better for them as they cannot attack. You just hold to defrost them in warm water and nurture while warm as snakes are heat sensitive.
I'd say nurture them once or twice a week, they don't cost that much at all.

They do need to be kept in reheat tempatures as they cannot digest food properly if it's too cold, they need clean hose down everyday and things to hide under and rub against when shedding.
Aspen is the best bedding for any breed of snake.
Look up some care sheets for the snakes i put down. They are sorted in size.

small ball python corn snake king snake green tree python and boa all3-7 foot

medium boa constrictor carpet python all 7- 15 foot

large burmese python 12-25 feet

You are asking such amenable questions. If you really love snakes, go online and research. Find some of the species you are interested in and consequently we can better help you. You may want to look at THEREPTILEROOM.org, the people on there keep hold of all kinds of snakes, there are pictures and assistance sheets.
Answers:    im sorry but your question are way too broard to answer considering every species and what situations and when one this is right and when another is etc etc

for further info i would suggest a honest snake or reptile forum.
I share the same love. I don't know a specific species but I can give an account you this: Get a constrictor. If you get he/she fat, he/she won't be able to hurt you. I'm in principle certain the food must be live. Snakes have slow digestive systems so probably a minimum of three days between meals. Not that expensive. No more than another pet I suppose. I don't suggest snakes need special care, just produce sure your snake gets sunlight. Remember, they're cold-blooded and need sunlight or the bake from a strong bulb.
Other stuff you might already know: They unhinge their jaw to swallow prey whol. (oh yeah) The reason the devil is portrayed as a snake is because a snake will look you within the eye. If snakes could talk, their s's would not be exagerated, there th's would and their th's would come out as an s. Um, yeah. That's all I know approximately snakes.
Does anyone own experience next to burmese pythons?   At what size or age do sliders and painted turtles acquire teritorial?   Can I use aspen litter for a corn snake?   CAN TURTLES LIVE WITH OUT WATER?
