Reptile Lights, blowing the fuse box. What can I do?
Yes, I've finally gotten to the point where my reptile lights have finally began tripping the breaker. Is near anything, like battery powered that I can plug the lights into? Like some sort of generator thing?
I'd antipathy to be gone one day and the breaker trips leaving my reptiles light-less. I can't afford to have anything die, particularly my dart frogs.
I can't really move them around either, as they will be in drafty areas and not to mention out of place.
So is in that something I can do to get some of my lights off the breaker?
Answers: My husband and I both have elec.eng degree and we've been discussing your question for quite a while... Basically we can't come up next to a reliable and feasible way to appropriate your reptile heating needs off-grid. If you're already tripping the breaker with your existing set up after I think your best bet (not cheap!) would be to get an electrician to come in and lead another dedicated circuit, from your existing mains panel, that's then solely used for your reptile setups.
My hubby is an electrican and from what I know, it sounds similar to you will either need to upgrade your service or add/change a breaker to your existing panel if possible.
