Should i use a uva or uvb lights?
when i went to the pet store they recommended this light that emits a uva sunbeam but everything i read it says to use uvb lights for my chinese water dragon what is the difference an what will uva ray do whether i don't get a uvb bulb because i asked for that an the pet store told me to get he one i have??
i dont know for sure but i thought uva was just heat/light and uvb is in actuality ultraviolet rays which alot of reptiles need so you need both a uva and uvb idk thoughhhhhh
UV-B helps to produce D3 and metabolize calcium and phosphorus. UV-A is produced to some degree contained by most lights but at higher rates in specialty lights like those made for reptiles. UV-A can be stimulative to both amusement and appetite.
Here are some site with info on UV lighting

Yes you need both
And to clarify - all fluorescent reptile UVb lights also produce UVa
Answers: u stipulation a light that produces both
You should use a broad spectrum light that emits BOTH UVA and UVB, such as a Reptisun 5.0 or 10.0. Be careful getting warning from petstores, as a lot of the information they give you is usually incorrect. Do your own research on the net.
Technically, you necessitate both, but UVA is easy enough to come by from regular light. UVB is the one fundamental to calcium absorption and the overall health of your dragon.
Avoid compact coil UVBs..they are dangerous to your dragon's condition!
