Any other things that I need to know, or want to know? this may be a lot of info but it is indispensable to know. They need fresh water, regular feedings, a safe, hydrated obscure - or even two. NEVER use sand as the substrate in the gecko's habitat. Many pet stores use this because it looks pretty, but it is dangerous for the gecko. You can buy a couple pieces of astroturf and switch them out every few days, or you can use paper towels. UV lights are not needed. You need to keep the habitate temp at about 82-88 degree F during the day. You can achieve this with grill bulbs over the tank, or heating pads underneath the tank. I would advise against heat rocks as the gecko can smoothly burn themselves on the rocks. During the night hours the temp can drop as low as 64 degrees F, but definitely no lower than that. Keep the habitat out of direct sunlight to avoid overheating. Light is essential, but a plain aquarium light will suffice. They only need it for something like 12 hours a day. You'll need to feed him day after day - about 5 crickets, meal worms, super worms, etc. Then, about once a week you can replace one spread with a live pinky or two - depending on the gecko's size. A full grown gecko can easily eat 2 pinkies surrounded by one sitting. Also - their tails will break off so don't try to catch or pick him up by the tail. If it breaks past its sell-by date it will grow back, but it won't look the same. If you take upright care of him you will have a long lasting pet! My brother have had his oldest gecko for 6 years now.
Here is a website that has some great information on Leopard Geckos whether you want to learn more.

Please! I beg you - do not find a gecko... Reptiles are not good pets for children, you need something with a short lifespan.
Do you realise leopards geckos live for upto 30 years? What happen when you go away to college or university? What happpens when you want to move out and you can only find a no pets allowed appartment? What happen when you need all your money to spend on yourself?
Try to think long-term and be ripened about it.
A reptile require you to have insects in your house - they receive noise and smell and escape.
How about a gerbil or rodent of some kind? Something that will one and only live a couple of years.. Geckos just hide all the time besides!
I love my leo but i think a kid that wants a cute and easy pet will find them fundamentally boring. They just hide 23 hours per day.
Answers: What type of gecko do you cogitate is going to be the nicest?
Crested geckos are also really easy as beginner reptile pets. It was my personal first gecko.
Cutest one??
Crested gecko come surrounded by tons of colors, so there is one for every person!
How much do they eat a hours of daylight?
Crested geckos eat about 3-5 crickets every other day, but profusely of that depends on their size. I also was recommended by my vet to feed my crested gecko a commerical gecko food powder mixed in next to tropical fruit flavored baby food. Both are really cheap, and easier to keep than crickets.
Is it expensive pet?
If you already have the reservoir, that's the biggest thing. They don't need a ton of special lighting, contrary to deeply of other reptiles/lizards. If you keep your house/room pretty warm (i.e. over 70) they are generally ok near that too. All they need is food and water.again, crickets are cheap, powder is too and will last forever, and little one food is like 80cents a jar.
Do you recommend a gecko? (first time owner of a lizard)
I would recommend a crested gecko if you are willing to memorize about how to take care of them, and to watch/care for them.
Any other things that I requirement to know, or want to know?
Make sure you find a good vet in the nouns that specializes in exotic animals and is willing/able to help you out with this unmarked pet. Reptiles often are sick because of poor husbandry (i.e. improper food, lighting etc). So if you can do that in good health, then often you can keep a bullish healthy reptile!
