Why doesn't my snake close to me?
Recently I've been trying to handle my king snake a lot more, I'm letting him roam around my computer right immediately, safely of course.
Whenever I put my hand out for him to slither on to, he looks at it and taste it but then goes in the other direction. Is this regular for snakes to move in the other direction from their owners, my friend's snakes don't... Or does it simply not like me?
It probably doesn't close to the scent of you. There are some smells that snakes don't like. If you put on soap before you got it out, it probably hate the smell and slithers away. Make sure your hand doesn't smell close to anything. But don't put on anything that smells like a snake's prey. It will bite your hand. :D It takes time for a snake to take to know you. I have a python and it took about 4 days of a LOT of staring at it to let it procure used to me.
I'm certain you will agree that Snakes are very funny creatures sometimes!! Don't expect your snake to be sociable straight away, small periods of handling respectively day will help your snake learn to trust you and he will grain more at ease with you the more time you spend with him. You can't rush snakes I'm afraid, so give somebody a lift things step by step. It takes them a while to become accustomed to regular handling, especially whether they haven't been handled regularly before. Just be certain to look out for signs of stress when you do handle, then you will know when its time to put him back.
snakes do that sometimes...at least he doesn't bite you adjectives the time. its nothing to worry about...he only has things to do and palces to go.
First off how old is your king and is it captive breed or caught contained by the wild? second how long have you have it. some snakes take allot longer to get use to their humans then others do.
when you nurture it are you touching the food with your bear hands and feed it in it's cage. if you are you shouldn't. you involve to be using feeding tongs and a box to be fed in.
and other remember it doesn't matter if you have have it 1 month or 10 years it is a wild animal and it will do what it likes..
Answers: Snakes aren't like dogs or cats. They aren't going to shift cuddle with their owners. Some snakes like to climb on their owners but some don't. Your snake is probably just more interested contained by exploring unknown territory. :) ALSO, snakes really dont express feelings so I'm sure its not that he doesn't resembling you. The more you handle the snake the more comfortable it will get with you though.
Because you probably don't feed it.
