About my rat making strange noise?
MY cute little rat templeton keeps making these really wierd clicking noises and it doesnt even sound really close to clickin noises it's wierd tho he only does it when i hold him i dont know if he is excited or what is within something wrong or is it normal for him to make really strange noises close to that?
I had a male rat that would do this adjectives the time. Would drive me nuts. I kept thinking he was getting sick so I took him to the vet and the vet said best way I can describe, hes chitter chattering. Alot of rats do this.
It sounds like he is bruxing. Rats brux (grind their teeth back and forth) to wear down their teeth which constantly grow, and also as a sign of happiness or stress. It's without a flaw normal and if he does it while you hold him it means he is contented with you!
Answers: It's called "bruxing" and it's sort of like cats purring - it usually money they're happy but on occasion they also do it when they're stressed or in strain.
my rats used to do this thing it be like there teeth were chattering, they did it surrounded by the cage and when i held them, they were very friendly and never seem scared, it should be fine if they can still be handled.
