I would have to enunciate ferrets two girls in one cage would be nice or two dwarf hamster Syrians hamsters are solitary so you probably don't want that type of hamster.
I own a teddy bear hamster (Syrian) the food I got for him is Kaytee he loves it he puts the food surrounded by he cheeks and gos back to his hide out and comes back for more and the round up I got for him he loves to climb the bars and go through the tube.
My hamster loves when I rub his pay for and feed him.
guinea pigs are vary Cute But I do not know about them.
I never have a ferret but I been around people who have and they are oscillate friendly.
If you don't know how hamsters ferrets or guinea pigs look you can go to yahoo images or Google similes and research on them.
If you want more info about my hamster email me, Hope I helped you
"don't mate a lot" - Well, if you do the responsible thing and keep them surrounded by same-sex pairs, there will be no mating what-so-ever! Rabbits & Ferrets are often spayed/neutered for convenience, too.
"live in good health together" - Gerbils. Mice. Rats. Rabbits. Ferrets. Guinea Pigs. (With their own kind, of course. Never mix them!)
"are active"/"somewhat cute" - Same as listed above.
"can u put surrounded by a cage" - Same as listed above.
Answers: I've had rats for 5+ years - and I've also had gerbils, guinea pigs, mice and hamsters. I've found that rats are the best small animal - by far - to get. As next to any animal in nature - if you put a masculine and female together, they're going to mate. With rats - you will want to get either two females or two males. They are intensely social animals and do best in pairs. Males tend to be more laid back - love to be held, petted, talked to, snuggled. Females tend to be somewhat more antsy - but totally tamable. They are also very loving - love to be talked to and can learn to love to be held. They resembling to explore and investigate.
As far as cages go - you'll want to get something markedly spacious and possible multi-leveled. These can range from about $50 to $150 for something suitable for two rats. Tanks/aquariums are not suitable as they are poorly ventilated.
As far as food go - I would get Nutiphase Rat/Mouse food. I've always fed my rats this food and they've be nothing but healthy.
You can also buy treats - yogurt drops/freeze dried fruit and veggies - they love these things.
As far as bedding - I have one and only used Aspen bedding. Pine and Ceder are toxic to rats and Carefresh bedding cause respiratory problems because of all the dust it creates.
Rats are the best at being involved when you are - and can even learn their names. They're also capable of erudition tricks! Wonderful pets! I would recommend them to anyone!
Go to your local library and take out some books on Rodents as pets and read them. Some are active only at darkness. Some are very particular about their food etc, so study first, afterwards make up your mind.
I like rats. but you need alot of research to ensure the enthusiasm happy, heathy lifes :)
