Am I right to be furious near the vet?

On monday afternoon, I called my vet surgery because my beautiful blue rat Crispin was not a hundred percent. I thought either he had broken his leg, or had a stroke, because he be not himself at all and he was struggling to walk.
I told them that I wasn't getting remunerated until the wednesday, but I was really worried, so could they please help. When my cat was not a hundred percent, they took her in straight away and allowed me to pay the following week when my wage go in, as they do for many cases. But this time the ignorant receptionist said "freshly leave him til wednesday, he should be ok" He was clearly not OK but they wouldn't let me hold him seen to until i had all the money.

I did everything I could to build him comfortable, but this morning when I got up to take him to the vets, I found that he have passed away. I am very very upset, and also furious that the money come before caring for my poorly little Crispin, when the receptionist on the phone had no theory that he was going to be ok! It wasn't as if I couldn't pay them at adjectives, and it was two short days that could have saved his little enthusiasm!

Since when has money come before lives?
Even if it be 'just a rat', he was a beautiful companion, and a life span all the same!
Yes, you have every right to be furious with the vet, you should go to the vet and say to the receptionist " my rat died because you wouldn't let the vet see what was wrong near him." Obviously in a politer way. Also, the vet probably wouldn't of let that crop up. Just report the situation to the achual vet and see how it goes from there.
look u hold a right to be angry!
u should choose anther vet who takes rodents as imporant as cats and dogs
and ur rat had an stroke there would of be nothing u could of done beacuse it has infected his brain and he would of passed away

i enjoy recently traded vets for my rabbits and rats beacuse of the same problem and this vet i run to now is much more active about these little creaters =]

Answers:    I would report the receptionist to the veterinarians. They are most likely not aware of what she said and probably would not own given the same advice. She may lose her job.
It sounds like what happened wasn't the vet's fault, but the receptionist shouldn't hold assumed your rat would be okay (unless she herself was a vet, which I doubt, most have only accounting training). Speaking as someone who worked at a vet hospital, there are a huge amount of people who cannot or will not pay their bills, so when somebody mentions they cannot discharge for the procedure or wants to pay later they lift that as an immediate warning sign. Some vets will set aside humane euthanasia for free as an alternative but some won't. Blame the other people who don't pay their bills who've ruined things for everyone.

From what it sounds like, I don't come up with your rat would have made it even with immediate veterinary attention. There's with the sole purpose so much that can be done, and with rats it is so much harder since they are so small and not many vets are familiarized with their care. In the future I would consider pet insurance, which can be purchased for rats for as little as $9 a month and can cover emergency expenses such as this. As an alternative you could put absent a few dollars a month on your own to save up for possible vet bills, or use a credit card to pay the bill then pay packet off your credit card bill as quickly as you are able.

I'm incredibly sorry to hear about your rat and your bad experience and I hope things will work out better for you in the adjectives!
they don'r want ro see you unless you can money.
Well, with adjectives the fraudulent claims of payment these days, I'd say they might've be nervous to whether you were going to pay.
As for the receptionist.
She have absolutely no idea if your pet rat would be okay. It be unprofessional of her to suggest so. All pets should be taken into consideration and seen by a registered vet before a statement approaching this is made.
I would report her to the owner of the clinic. This could happen to someone else's pet as well, and no one requests that.
I'm sorry to hear about your rat, by the way. ;(
My neighbor has one and it's simply adorable.
Anyway, hope I helped a bit!
