clean out its coop once a week. but if it a day or 2 late, it will be fine. never nurture it candy, sweets, any junk food, citrus fruit, onions, tomato leaves, or raw potato. at hand are more, i just dont know them all. feed it regular hamster food, but also nurture it fresh foods like apples, bananas, grapes, small pieces of cheese, carrots, toasted bread, and maybe little pieces of fish. but dont dispense it too much of any of these.also, NEVER EVER EVER get it soaking wet or it will get greatly sick and might die. dont ever put his/her cage in a cold spot or it will hibernate (not kidding).dont put newspaper within his/her cage, because they are allergic to newsprint. always make certain he/she has plenty of water at all times(no coke,no issue how much you love it.:).male hamsters have fatter heads than females.i hope this help.bye!

well, hamsters HAVE to have a big shut within to run in, a wheel, and definitely things to chew on. they also call for chopped up carrots, lettuce and apples at least once a week, and for a special treat give them a plain wheat thin/triscuit. They also inevitability to be held once or twice a day (just to let them get used to you)
Hope that help and good luck with your new hamster :)
Answers: Hamsters need a pretty correct sized cage. Fresh clean bedding, a food bowl with hamster mix surrounded by it, a water bottle, things to chew on (they have all kind at PetSmart or other petstores, like woodblocks and such) a house of some kind to sleep in, and a helm. You can also buy other things to keep them occupied, just choose some things that best fit the hold and your budget.
A hamsters cage needs to be fully cleaned about one a week. This money replacing all bedding and cleaning the cage and surfaces with hot hose down. After cleaning, make SURE that everything is fully dry, because your hamster could develop wet tail, which is a serious disease hamsters get and generally die from.
Never, EVER bathe a hamster. For some reason some people dream up this is OK - but it IS NOT. Some people do bathe their hamsters, but it will catch up beside them one day. Bathing a hamster could make them catch a cold and damp tail. It seriously risks their health and lives so just don't do it.
You might also want to think around a plastic run about ball. These are at any petstore.
Hamsters need to be taken out and played near often. Mine bit a lot at first, but now she is impressively friendly. If your hamster bites, it's normal at first. Let him or her get to know you gradually.
You can also propose timothy hay or treats for snacks.
After using a paper towel or tolite paper roll, but the empty tube contained by your hamsters cage. Not only do they like to run surrounded by and out, they will chew on it and help keep their teeth trimmed.
At petstores, they usually enjoy books you can buy to go along with your pet. Animal Planet has published books on adjectives sorts of pets. I reccomend you buying one.
Good luck with your new pet!
