Just shredded paper. Plain paper tho. I have 2 hamsters from a different shop that lasted about 18months. My brother had 2 from pets at domestic n they lasted quite a bit longer. I had 2 Robouski Dwarf hamsters call Sasha and Smudge and brother had 2 (not sure what breed) called Nippers and Nappers!!

Kitchen roll, toilet roll as in that both soft and absorbant. You can also buy a packet of cheap dish clothes, you know the blue and white checked ones that rip really easily. Cut it into little squares. I made the mistake once of leaving a t shirt nex t to the hamster cage, i go back to find that she had made her bed from chewed up bits of my t shirt. So maybe only just give her an old t shirt cut into squares and let her chew her own bed!
shredded paper has worked for me
zoe babe..x
Shredded plain uncoloured toilet quality newspaper or kitchen roll. You must avoid most shop bought beddings as they are often fluffy. When swallowed, they wrap themselves around the gut and cause departure. They also get caught around their limbs and in hamsters, can inflict impacted cheek. This is when substances get caught in their cheeks, causing them niggle and they will need their cheeks emptying by a vet.
As I keep truism, Pets At Home breed their animals in poor conditions. They are bred in mills, where they live contained by cramped conditions, where they are overbred and are not bred with health considerations within mind.
Pets At Home have 2 very serious outbreaks within their small animal departmentsacrosss the country that I know of at the moment. One of them is E. Coli, the other Tyzzers disease.
kitchen roll is fine for a hammies bedding iv used it for all mine and they love it a moment ago put it in the cage whole and they will shred it themselves, never have a hamster from pets at home but iv had rats, they lived foir about two years, the merely thing with animals from big pet stores is they are not handled and they may not know properly where on earth they have come from and what type they are xxxxxx
resourcefully when in the winter your hamster may get cold and we use cotton wool for it then stuff i bit similar to kitchen roll but it is not homemade so you just put the cotton wool and kitchen paper in his/her house
also dont use shredded daily as it is not comfortable for the lil thing
good luckk!!

u can use BLANK shredded copy newspaper or ripped up tissue paper... if u decide to use any one of these tho u will have to change the bedding more than usual
toilet article un marked plain paper or kitchen roll...even Cotton wool or old clothes is fine. I have a hamster, russian dwarf, she was very old when i get her ad lived another year somehow then died in her sleep she be a bit evil though !
shreded loo roll :)
cheap and easy!
i got 3 of my 8 hamsters from pets at home and they adjectives lived happily til they were about 4 :D
and also my 2 gerbils, and the with the sole purpose guinea pig i actually paid for, and 3 of my goldfish :) there isnt anything wrong near the pets at home near me!
as long as you care for them properly once you carry them, it shouldnt matter where you get them from!
shredded newspaper never did any injure to hamsters, I wd bet!
if u dont want to do that - use ordinary paper. quik/easy is in recent times to renew newspaper daily - shredded or not.
gd luck
Their are ways to product homemade bedding but if you would do tht you would have to change its bedding every afternoon. I also asked this question because i am on a budget. You can rip up tissues in long streamers and that works pretty well. There are other things you can do but they adjectives do the same as tissue paper. People say you can use weekly (not the comics) but I don't recommend it because of the ink. What I have done is I buy carefresh and mix it with torn tissue and torn paper backpack (with no ink). This seems to work and it is saving me money.
I have have no experience with pets at home but I have simply heard 1 good thing give or take a few them. I have heard about 5 desperate things about them
Hope I helped!
PrettyKitty
edit: sorry i forgot in the region of these. i just looked the up. You can use regular copy paper (printer paper) and sometimes tissue paper works but I wouldn't use it because of the ink.
What about bits of sponge... im not certain actually..
uhmm what about shredded BLANK bits of paper.. or shredded sugar article stuff.
shredded, unscented soft toilet/kitchen paper in a pile in the corner and prod a tunnel going inside to it, your hamster will next go in and use it as its den.
use plain shredded thesis
shredded paper is good. i havent bought any hamsters from pets at home, but i get my rats from them in june and they are now 11 months old
just plain cheap blank thesis, or tissue paper
