My first mice were from pets at home many years ago and they both lived something like three years. This was the pets at home in Gloucestershire that seem to be doing well for itself. I would recommend that you if the hamster's you buy from there are dieng any find the cause of the death's or buy a hamaster that you can tell is really healthy and see what happen's after. If that dies i would recommend another shop or another pet. Hope this helps and that you DON"T lose any hamsters. Shame we can't keep hamster's here in Australia as nearby lovely little munchkins. Cheer's
The pious: I bought a hamster from them and she was nearly 2 years old when she died.

The bad: I enjoy also bought rats from them in the past and out of 6 rats 3 of them had really fruitless health issues.

Have a look at this site http://www.brecklagh.com/petshops.html

The pics are mostly of rats but this is how rodent farming works and this how most pet shops get their small animal livestock
i got a beuatiful syrian hamster their, and i have still get her. I buy her treats and food and toys from pets at home, and she loves them!
its her 1st bday on the 1st december, so i'm going to treat her with a few toys from pets at home.
she have never bitten me in her life, and she's got a lovely sense of self and she gets along with my parants well, (except my dad, he hate little animals) and she is really sociable.
theres not 1 bad thing about her.
my lil dwarf hammy bites and never comes out, apart from at night, and wakes me up with his joystick, and i got him from pets at home.

you've all kinda anxious me about the early dieing hammys from their, i dont want my babys to die early, :(
i have never have a hamster from there but i have 2 guinea pigs and a gerbil from there, and i have another gerbil previously from there and my pets are all fine.

My friend has 2 dwarf hamsters and a rabbit from near and they are fine too :)
I explained this to you contained by another question, but animals from Pets At Home are bred badly in hamster mills. They will be more potential to be ill and have very poor starts to their lives.

Animals contained by pet chains are bred for quantity, not quality.
bad!! it was gross and once somehow broke out of its cage (never found out how) and manage to crawl into my parents bed while they were sleeping. My dad freaked out. yucky, yucky, yucky.
i got my rats from them and they are still alive. they are both 11 months old. they have never be ill. i will always buy my small pets from them

why do people other have a bad thing to voice about pets at home. the one near me is unblemished. obviously yours is crap
I had a Hamster that last 2 years Hamsters generally last 1
No, not really. My Syrian hamster was a great pet; she was live, fun, and really liked playing. Unfortunately, they get sick easily and will generally cost more than just food and cage expenses; and sadly, she died within two years.
none of my pets that i got from there lived really short lives
...apart from one of my fish.

but the rodents i got from there were fine!
perchance it depends on the store you go to
everything is, however, grossly overpriced
i had a gerbil from there and he lived to over 3years older (a good age for a gerbil im told)

maybe u arnt looking after them properly? xxxxx
Answers:    No, they other die or get sick really quickly although it does depend on the store. They have a really unpromising reputation and only want to make money out of you. A lot of animals in Pets At Home are inadequately bred and the staff at Pets At Home don't feed them properly. Pets are much better bought from breeders who only breed animals to show. Breeders can give you lots of proposal about their animals and they often breed tame animals which are in good health.
Visit some hamster shows to find good breeders, here is a link to the club I got my hamsters from : http://www.northernhamsterclub.com/

hope this help
