Are cereal boxes ok for gerbils to chew on?
Like will the ink make them sick?
No. They will get sick because of the ink or anything it is. See if it was regular cardboard they wouldn't get sick.

always err on the side of tip off. Though I have only heard this by word of mouth, commercial cardboard products approaching paper towel and toilet paper tubes could contain glue that is to say not meant to be ingested by humans or rodents. One could assume that also means cereal boxes.
Safe chew sticks and treats are relatively inexpensive and more effective, so I would stick to the sheltered stuff and not use the unknown.
Well, it really depends. I don't feel it would really hurt it, but if your pet decides to eat it, presently is the time to take it away...
A cereal box should be fine for your gerbil. If the gerbil ingests a large amount of it the ink might make it sick, however, but if you of late give him the top of the box or something he should be just fine.
no, nothing w/ dye. Toilet paper rolls (they play in them also), weekly towel rolls or cardboard.
Yes, they are ok! I give all our Kleenex, cereal, and even quick oat boxes to them. It's not similar to they are eating the cardboard. So unless you see them "Choking" on it, then take it out.

I give my hamsters adjectives different kinds of cardboard and they are fine. I recommend paper towel rolls (with out the paper towel on it) they love to chew and crawl within them.

Answers: They are fine to give to your gerbils. I've been giving my gerbils cereal boxes, tissue boxes, pizza boxes, rime cream boxes and many others for over 20 years. They don't eat them, just chew them and it adjectives goes towards their bedding. It's newspaper and magazines stuff resembling that you should keep away from them.

No, take this from experience. The ink might make him sick, and this is really gross and unhealthy. cereal boxes, toilet and tabloid towel rolls are all made out of recycled products for all you no there could be drugs and stuff on the cereal boxes and who would want near hamster on drugs?
